Didn't Riddick Bowe really suddenly just lose it? What about Ezzard Charles? People like to say he was an OLD 32 when he fought Marciano. I know he had abut 100 pro fights at that point. That's more like battle-worn. How about Joe Frazier? He wasn't around THAT long really, compared to Ali or Holmes or Foreman or Holyfield. Even Tyson fought for about 20 years professionally. Seems Frazier was only around for 8 or so.

Dont really agree with Hatton he was around for a long time, before he fought Tszyu. Warren milked him for all he was worth, after the Tzyu fight he already had a lot of miles on the clock before the big fights in America.

Catch 22 in my opinion, if he had of gone to America sooner he may never have reached the heights he did.

Gee I'd have said Ricky was pinging right when he met Tszyu and Kostya had the real miles on clock already. Tough fight that one,he did good.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say Roberto Duran, Duran turned 29 just a few days before the first Leonard fight, i wouldn't call that old as far as boxing careers are concerned. By the time he turned 30 he was definitely having more difficulty with his habit of ballooning up in between fights, he simply wasn't in the best shape in a lot of fights that he then lost. Benitez, Laing, Hagler and then Hearns all beat him before he turned 33. I think we saw the best of Roberto Duran for the last time in the first Leonard fight at age 29, he had been fighting for 12 years and been through a lot of wars even by then. The constant fluctuations with his weight and lack of conditioning prematurely ended his greatness. I know he had some good wins in between (Cuevas and Moore), but in reality he was never the same after the brawl in Montreal. His record from Leonard 2 until Sims in 1986 is 13 -7- 6. Duran was 35 in 1986.
