Really? I would imagine that it is likely true, but what research have you taken this from? Just curious as I think it sounds interesting.
Anyway, as a self confessed genius and tortured poet I most definitely do not watch reality TV shows. In fact I have an aversion to most television.
Most of it is fluff.

My little sister is a sociology major, she has all this data with academic scientific journals. I should correct myself and say the people that watch these reality shows have a lower IQ than the population's mean of 100. Usually around 80-95. I wouldn't say it causes low IQ but that people that watch it has LOWER IQs than the mean of 100. It said something that people with lower IQ than the mean of 100 tend to engage in non-intellectual activity more and watching reality tv shows was one of them.
