Shocked to hear about Gary Speed being found dead. He was only 42, doing a brilliant job as Wales manager and I saw him on MOTD saturday morning with Gary McCallister.

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I heard on the radio a little while ago, and I'm just sitting here stunned. Apparently he may have committed suicide, which just makes it all a little harder to take in. He's done so much for Welsh football on and off the pitch, and just feel so sorry for his two sons.
yes suicide. Stunned
Don't know anything about his personal life - was he married, kids ??
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
Yes seemed to have it all and looked relaxed yesterday on TV reminiscing winning the title with Leeds.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
right - obviously something is going to come out then
gambler ?? am just speculating cos it don't make sense![]()

Very sad to hear....Bellamy couldn't even play today because of it.
You know, I feel genuinely saddened by this news.
I've been reading some articles online and a couple have hinted at depression being the cause. There's also rumours around that The Sun were about to print a revealing story about him, they flatly deny this.
It just makes no sense at all. Apparently he'd even made plans to appear on Football Focus again next month after appearing on it yesterday. He then went to The Man U game with Shearer then went home and hung himself.
Such a sad sad story.
So sad.
The rumour is that there were a few career ruining stories about to come out in the press about him. Don't know what could have been that bad. But if that's true, it's even more sad. (sad he felt he had to kill himself over newspapers)
He was on a football show yesterday, laughing and joking about the weekend football.
And career wise, he was on the verge of something very special with Wales.

I've kind of avoided commenting too much on this side of it at the moment, as I had been comparing recent performances to the kind of optimism I had when Hughesie was in charge. It'll be something that we never get to find out now, and a lot of the youngsters that he has blooded will need some very careful management for the next few friendlies and going into the next qualifying.
As for rumours, I find it hard to believe that they are anything but that. The reality is that we are likely never to know now, as any paper so callous as to print such stories really should be boycotted and closed down.
Very sad news. He was a credit to the game and in an era of spoilt prima donnas seemed a really genuinely nice guy. Great manager too and very considered pundit. Thoughts must go out to his family, R.I.P
It is sad news.
Shocking news, as many on here have said, I also watched him on Footy Focus on saturday morning, and all seemed well with him, not troubled at all.
Got into work this morning and a couple of peeps have said he was having affairs and it was about to be released in the press, and this could of been the reason behind him doing what he done
Such a shame and such a waste of talent, he managed to turn the Welsh national team around in less than a year, and thats some feat !
Thoughts go out to his family

The main rumour is that he was gay and that there were stories, including evidence that he was.
It is horrific if he has killed himself over a newspaper story, but as has been said, it couldn't have been that bad, he would have got through it.
