The new game thread

I start a game thread every six months and then forget about it and have to start a new one. So this is a new game thread and if possible I would like it to be a sticky. That way I won't need to start a new thread every time. And feel free to jump in with brand new games or older games you have just discovered. I'm not as anal as those arseholes in the music thread.

I've been playing FIFA 12 as MarkTKO recommended it last time out. On the whole I quite like it, but defending is a bitch. It's easy to score and it is very easy to get sloppy and concede. Last week I bought Uncharted 1 and 2 which were in a cheaper dual edition. I haven't played them yet but have heard good things about them. Might get Uncharted 3 when I'm through with them.

So another new games thread. What are your hot games right now?

My uncle just gave me his old 46" plasma tv and I have been enjoying Demon's Souls on it.

I can no longer get into games. I dabbled with Skyrim but after a few hours was bored out of my mind. I play chess. It is the only game worth playing.

Chess is a great game, but I haven't really played it properly since I was at school. I was second best, but always behind this geek who I could only ever beat once every blue moon. I think he was raised on chess or something. He was a real oddball. I'm sure most 12 year old chess players can beat me now.

I really like games and can get lost in them. The only one I got a bit bored with was F1 as all you are ever doing is following a circuit round and round. That does get a bit repetitive, a bit like the real thing. Not that I have ever driven a F1 car, though I would like to.

One thing that bugs me about games is how they are all made for HD TV and my TV is older. So for instance you have to really squint to read some of the text. I'm going to have to upgrade as Korea is doing away with regular TV next year.

On xbox modern warfare 3 and a little skyrim here and there.

I gotta ps3 now but the only games i have for it is madden 12, killzone 3, and black ops.

It's nuts really. When I was young I was playing Sonic the Hedgehog and maybe some Streets of Rage. All relatively comic book. These days games are so realistic and savage.
