Default Fight Game With Jim Lampley

'Fight Game With Jim Lampley' Debuts on HBO, May 12 - Boxing News

Lampley to get his show on HBO to talk boxing debuting on May 12. What do you guys think about this?

He still hasn't learned not to scream 'BIG RIGHT HAND' when a punch hits a fighters elbow/glove so it might be a bit premature to carry a whole show?

Unless he's gonna spend it screaming BANG BANG BANG over boxing montages, I'd watch that.

So...this will be similar to the show Steve Bunce had in the UK?

I watched it on the weekend and not being a fan of Lapdog I actually liked it. I thought he was spot on concerning how "risk and reward" are used today.

Watched some of it the other night.

The bit with Bob Arum was quite insightful, I believe him when he says he's not holding up the Pacqauio vs. Mayweather superfight
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

I've said it before. Lampley's a necessary evil. We'll miss him when he's gone. He may not be all that at calling the action in a fight... but he's the glue that holds it all together when Larry goes on one of his drunken monologues, or when things go a little out of control in the telecast. Love him or hate him... he does a good job.

Agree totally. His voice is synonymous (sp?) with boxing.
