Thumbs down favourite old time boxer

Hello gents, I was looking through my dvd collection of fighters and I was a little surprised at my choice of favorites.

I like Roy Jones fights over sugar ray. Sweet pea over duran. Armstrong over fulmer....tunney over dempsy and uh to make this list short it seems I skip the boxer over brawler every generation.

So it got me wondering who my favourite old old school fighter is and its always jack johnson.

I'd love to know about your favourites.

Jack Johnson is definitely a good choice.

I like to think of the differences between Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, and Muhammad Ali. What's funny is Al Sharpton is on the Ali documentary about how Ali was robbed of his three years in his prime, but he isn't anywhere to be seen on the Louis documentary. Haha. What a useless piece of trash.

AMEN! Joe Louis willingly sacrificed his prime years to help the war effort and what thanks did he get? A POS like Sharpton not knowing anything about him!

When you say "Old Time" I think of the fighters like John L. Sullivan, Harry Greb, Battling Siki, Young Griffo, Kid Chocolate, Jim Jeffries, James J. Corbett, Stanley Ketchel, Jack Johnson, Sam Langford, etc etc. Loads of great nicknames back then and loads of great tales like the Sullivan-Kilrain fight where it was scorching hot and the men went toe to toe The Great John L swigging whiskey between rounds.

Sullivan is the stuff legends are made of. He went 75 rounds with Kilraine when he could have easily finished him inside of ten. He did it to show everybody that he wasn't a short winded Nancy. Sullivan is a boss.

Love Joe Louis for old time fighter as you can watch his fights and his moves looks modern.

Jack Dempsey raw punching power is also brutal and amazing to watch.

One of my all time old school fighters is Jack Dempsey. His skill and power are something else. Even Ko people with body shots. Slightly more modern it would have to be Henry Cooper. He was a brilliant boxer, with an incredible left hook.

    Here's some cool videos.

    Corbett Vs Fitzsimmons

    John L Vs Lausse

I am seriously old if RJJ is an 'old time fighter'...

One of the greats of 'the old times' would be Bob Fitzsimmons. A national of the world, he is the only man to win THE Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight World Championship...
