    Default Battle of the comedians

In a fight who would win? Ken Dodd even in his prime was never really much of a prime physical specimen and neither was Bernard Manning for being the owner of a polar opposite physique. (though maybe Ricky gave him some tips). The new breed of alternative comedians wouldn't be much better. Ben Elton, can't hit a guy with glasses. The dangerous brothers would have been good until Rik stoved his own heed in. Eddie Izzard surprisingly enough would probably make a go of it with decent stamina, Bill Hicks would be pretty unrelenting and unpredictable, particularly if his opponent was a really tiny cop in the wing mirror. Richard Pryor? How could you hit someone that funny? I caught a glimpse of a really shit Eddie Murphy film about a boxer turned spy, and he was so open , one of the diddy men could have flattened him. John Cleese? Big guy but no co-ordination. Shelley Berman? Steve Martin, no banjo weapons. Aaaaaarrrggghhh.

1 Even with the guidelines of this new religion, the Baha’i Faith, dealing with life’s comic genius instead of Genesis 1:10 and exercising an appropriate self-control over my impulsiveness to giggle hysterically during sermons over sea men has not been easy. I learned over the decades that there is much more to religious life than pie throwing, prayer stairs and meeting in large groups for a chuckle over the rediculous.

Norman Wisdom versus Lee Evans. Absolute classic . Both ex boxers, similar weight class, clever, quick, tricky angles, great stamina, agile can see multipe knockdowns with both guys springing straight back up and refusing to give in.
