Same promoter. Great fight. Chances are Oscar goes by the Arum handbook and wont allow it while both are in their prime.

I don't know -- if DeMarco looks good in September I wouldn't be surprised if it happens. I think Broner destroys him though. I know it's "too soon" to say this (and cue the PDL comments) but I don't think Broner is seriously challenged below 147.
Won't mention the ponce fight but at 140 marquez, matthyse beat him for me. Hell. Garcia seems to not to do anything spectacular yet keeps winning so id give him a shot, and a focused khan that doesn't get taged hard and kod wins in my book as well. He's faced nowhere near anyone close to those fighters and till he does ima look to the one fight where he did face a solid championship fighter above his best weight and wongly got a w, so yeah sorry had to mention pdl
I agree completely, except that I think Matthyse would give Broner a great fight at the least, would love to see that. I don't actually think I've seen Molina, who Demarco is set to fight soon. What's your take on that one?
I can't give Demarco much of a shot against Broner either just going by the way he looked against Valero and Linares for most of the fight. He does have deceptive power, has those kind of wirey, slicing shots that really crept up on Linares, but then again Jorge is chinny as hell and still had that in the bag until the last round or two. Only way this fight would be a conflict of interests is if Demarco had a serious chance to win, which I can't see. It's not as if he's going to be a big draw or anything.
Looking on twitter I think Broner wants Gurruero at 147. I don't think he should move that far up yet, I want to see him at 140 for the time being.
Great little thread this Iam..... Regardless of the way this fight plays out, from 135 to 147, there are some fantastic fights to be had really when you think about it. Some really top fighters, and plenty that would be willing to trade divisions for a big fight too.
135:
Adrien Broner
Antonio DeMarco
Miguel Vasquez
Richard Abril
Sharif Bogere
Raymond Beltran (I Guess)
Kevin Mitchell
Ricky Burns
Jorge Linares (Still Talented despite bad losses)
Gavin Rees
140:
Juan Manuel Marquez
Brandon Rios
Mike Alvarado
Lucas Matthysse
Amir Khan
Danny Garcia
Lamont Peterson
Zab Judah (I Guess)
Mercito Gesta
Ojose Alusegun
Vernon Paris
Frankie Gomez (potentially)
147:
Robert Guerrero
Floyd Mayweather
Manny Pacquiao
Kell Brook
Carson Jones
Andre Berto
Paulie Malignaggi
Randall Bailey
Devon Alexander
Tim Bradley
Selcuk Aydin
Jan Zaveck
Victor Ortiz
Marcos Maidana
Luis Abregu (liked him, banger)
Thomas Dulorme (potentially)
Frankie Gavin (potentially)
Sorry for the long lists. Just got excited.
I'd really like to see Broner vs DeMarco actually. Good fight. Other on that list i'd like to see would be:
Selcuk Aydin vs Jan Zaveck
Luis Carlos Abregu vs Marcos Maidana
Tim Bradley vs Andre Berto
Kell Brook vs Carson Jones II
Kell Brook vs Amir Khan
Kell Brook vs Jan Zaveck
Jan Zaveck vs Andre Berto II
Manny Pacquiao vs Andre Berto
Manny Pacquiao vs Brandon Rios
Kevin Mitchell vs Jorge Linares
Raymond Beltran vs Gavin Rees
Danny Garcia vs Mike Alvarado
Brandon Rios vs Mike Alvarado
Juan Manuel Marquez vs Amir Khan
Juan Manuel Marquez vs Robert Guerrero
Just as a few. Ha.
Exceptional list of possibilities Mac. I reckon Broner fancies himself a bit of a tin collector so hopefully he makes a stop at 135 and 140. I suspect he will be a welter by this time next year or year and a half. I kind of see him steamrolling through 135 and most likely 140 also. I think he begins to feel the heat at 147 but even then many of the elites are going to be a little long in the tooth.
Cheers man. Your thread just got me way over excited.
You know, with Broner, I'm not 100% in yet. I think he's not really been tested against what I'd say is a top fighter. The only strong test at 135 is DeMarco, and I will never get the pciture out of my head of Valero dazzling DeMarco with his footwork and him being completely unable to deal with it. Broner doesn't have Valero level footwork, but he has good footwork and very fast hand like Valero had.
Ahhhhh.... Valero. That night against DeMarco, I was 100% ONBOARD, he was sensational, and with a huge gash from an elbow early doors too. Great fighter. Would love that fight in HD.....
Valero was just starting to display some boxing skills when he crashed and burned.
Broner is as fast as anyone in boxing right now including the likes of Gamboa and Russell Jr. Broners style to me is like a hybrid of Benton, Floyd and Ward with a little Robinson thrown in with his willingness to engage. He keeps a pretty wide stance behind that shoulder and remains flat footed much of the time giving him crushing power from either side. Very difficult to get to in the way he lines up and he is an incredible counter puncher. I guess he could become a dud but I highly doubt it.
Yeah, Valero's boxing was fantastic against DeMarco, his footwork was wonderful.
Broner, apart from him being a dick, I can see everything there. Aside from the PDL fight, I don't remember seeing him get hit. Ha. He will do, and its how he reacts. Fighting a tough as old boots Rios at 140 or fast power puncher like Gamboa will see whether he can swim. His flat footedness may be what gets him hit against someone quick.
Broner vs JMM
Khan vs Berto
Either on the same card as
Peterson vs Judah
