What a crock of manure! Why would any fan, fake or not want to watch a fight that is meaningless?
Why would Froch, who isn't stupid,
agree to some chickenshit fight with a fighter nobody has heard of. If he wants an easy fight, he can start an argument with his girlfriend! An 'easy fight' is a euphemism for fixed when you are talking boxing. Easy fights are bullshit and do not belong in boxing.

I read this too, he is Pascal's brother, I think this is not true and that the fighter could not make the weight. I know Froch is Pascal's friend but to engineer a fight for his brother who no one has heard of is a bit strange.

If anybody deserves a stay busy fight w/o cynicism its Froch. The guy has fought his ass off for the last two years against the best the world has to offer. And people who nobody has heard of have gotten title shots for over a century. I cant see Poulard making 168 and he's a pretty dam good fighter regardless of what boxrec stats show. I think he's more likely to fight Shumenov then Carl but I guess we will find out soon enough.

I'm not saying anything against Froch, he's one of the best and I enjoy watching him in the ring. My point is that he is among the best and should fight the best. I don't dislike Pascal's brother either, but do you guys want Froch to waste the time he has left in the ring, fighting a lesser opponent!? If Froch wants fight fans to still be talking about him forty years from now, he'll fight the best, like all the great ones do.

Unfortunately for Froch in 10 years he will be remembered fondly by real boxing fans but this group of fighters doesnt have one major stand out. They are all within inches of each other. Even though it means nothing to his career right now, he needs some big worldwide recognised name wins, he just had a good one with Bute and he was unbeaten to boot. Yes he has wins against some good quality opponents but he may be better for his bank and his name to have a few more names. Even if they are from lighter weights. Hopkins biggest fights were against smaller men.

Id say get a fight with Pavlik. Hes a well known name and will look good on his resume in 10 years. Its also an american which will further raise his profile.

I doubt Arum would do it but if Chavez Jr beats Martinez, try and get him to move up.
