Felix Sturm versus Daniel Geale

What's the consensus on this fight? Can the Aussie win in Germany? He did it against Sylvester, but Sturm has more fans and loyalty. How will the fight play out?

Strum could have been a star in the U.S after De La Hoya and now he's just a taint for german boxing...I think Geale takes this one as I believe Felix has lost a step.

I think Sturm wins a clear cut decision in a competitive fight.

It seems everytime I think he'll struggle...he'll win easily (Zbik & Sylvester) but when he has guys who style-wise are made to order for him (Macklin, Gevor) he'll struggle. Tough to figure out. I think he'll rise to the occasion and win 116-112 across the board.

You know what? I am still on the fence a little bit, but I believe I agree with you @TigerFan. I like Sturm in a competitive decision.

Calling sturm a taint on german boxing is a bit harsh. He's been in a lot of close fights but don't think any of the fights he won was a robbery. It does suck he exclusively fights at home but when he's motivated and up for it he's a pleasure to watch. see his fight with zbik as good a jab as any in the business. I think hell be up for this and takes it 8-4 or so.

I think this fight is going to reveal Sturm's intentions for the future. If he beats Geale convincingly he could go on to big big fights like Golovkin, Chavez or Martinez. There are always an array of European contenders such as Murray, Macklin, Proska and Lee.
A loss however would leave him without many alternatives.
For me it would then be Golovkin or bust.

No way. Strum would have taken the chance years ago to go to the states and make it big. He has no intention of doing it now. He will make his money fighting mandatories with his judges and ref as protection and will not take a serious risk until he has no other choice and is on his last legs. Hope he gets KTFO.

I actually think Sturm's a good fighter- but I think commercially he probably is on his last legs? The Murray and Macklin decisions didn't sit well with any boxing fans - even the German contingent!

I think it will be a close fight either way IMO, great match up though. Geale does deserve this fight and he will have to put in a performance if he's going to get the nod against Sturm. Who knows though. Wouldn't be surprised if Sturm wins a close UD though

If Sturm beats Geale and the Martinez/Junior winner looks vulnerable, I foresee the money being sufficient to draw Sturm to the U.S.
