Did anybody read this ?? I can't believe he has came out and said this, it's so strange. I think it's quite controversial and I don't think it's right what he's said or believes , no athlete should cheat to win. It makes no sense what he says, if everyone was allowed to dope I think people's life's would be in great danger.

I can see his point, at least it would level the playing field. But still, imagine the carnage if doping was allowed and people could take what ever they wanted. Desperate people would stuff their body full of loads of crap.

This isn't strange at all, you can completely see where a guy like Thompson is coming from. He's an old, solid veteran who has probably been clean and worked his ass off his whole career. Clearly he wouldn't throw this out without having a pretty good idea of how rampant doping is in the sport, and he probably feels that he's likely been cheated a couple of times himself. He would certainly be slightly more informed than the chap who's apparently "sickened" over his comments! I'm not ideally in favour of the legalization thing of course, but I honestly think it may be a fairer system than what is currently in place. All of these banned substances(which differ everywhere) aren't unlike the gun law at all, it's a perfectly good point. Without adequate standardized testing, or anything even CLOSE to it in many cases, outlawing banned substances truly can punish the fighters who choose to stay clean.

Half cleaning up something isnt real cleaning its an illusion to appease while its still a dirty business.
Maybe give a future three month cut off point and test the lot of them after that date,either you are clean or you are dismissed from the sport. (Of course some are still going to try to use masking agents and the likes and continue, but to test every fighter in the top levels and let them know it will be done and they will be dismissed and stripped of titles after that date, has to be the only other answer doesnt it?

I only found out the result because of what I read hear. I am shocked, I thought Thompson was here for the pay day.
