Default Matthew Hatton fighting for IBO Welterweight title

This Saturday Matthew Hatton takes on highly regarded Chris van Heerden in Johanessburg SA. With a combined record of 61-7-3 this should be an entertaining fight with two fighters whos style should gel nicely and am delighted to see that Boxnation have secured the fight.

I think van Heerden will be too good for the ageing Hatton and suspect a clear UD in his favour. Hatton is hard to stop going the distance with both Brook and Alvarez recently so would really put his name out there if he could get the KO win.

How does everyone see this going?

Hatton deserves everything he gets, the punishment (fighting for this belt after recently having a world title shot) of this fight is what you get when you fight twice in 2 years and lose.

If you're gonna be inactive, have the decency to at least win.

I'm with Eric on this one. I always hope Hatton does well. The guy takes a vicious beating at times but he's always still there at the end. If he goes into this guy's back yard and beats him he makes himself relevent at European level again. By all accounts he is being brought in as a named opponent for this guy, so he is expected to lose, but I hope he realises he won't have many chances left if he doesn't make a decent go of this one.
