    Default UFC on Fuel

Stun Gun and Yahya went about as I expected. Diego got a pretty big gift if you ask me. I thought Gomi clearly won it. Okami had some nice moments and I was surprised it was a SD and not a UD. Lombard doesn't seem to have a good plan B when he can't just overwhelm the guy. I'm sure Dana was not happy. The last thing he needs is Okami derailing title contenders left and right. Hunt and Struve was entertaining. Stefan looked woefully unprepared and it's not like Mark is a real dynamic fighter. Silva/Stann was just epic. That was just one guy simply being tougher than the other.

Anyone else amused that the UFC is not promoting GSP/Diaz as a competitive fight but rather that GSP wants to punish Nick? I've always enjoyed watching Nick fight but his TD defense has always been a deficiency. I think GSP takes him down and grinds him similar to the BJ Penn fight.

I didn't see the card but I'm not suprised that Hunt won. I think he is one of those guys who clearly has holes in his games but has such power in his fists you can never count him out. I thought Struve would use his distance and takedowns and win a decision though. I always liked Mark Hunt to be honest and I am glad for him.

Kim looked great he dominated the whole fight. You could tell Siyar was just looking for that one big shot he wasn't even setting it up.

Okami looked good too he had a good game plan that worked for two rounds. Lombard put it on him in the third but it was too little too late. If he had done that from the start the fight may have been different but he just let Okami take control.

Sanchez vs Gomi was close I thought it could have gone either way although I was hoping the fireball kid would take it. Diego seem's to have lowered his intensity when he fights don't know how many more fights he has left in him.

Hunt vs Struve was a good scrap. Didn't think it was very Smart for Hunt to hang around in Struves guard he was landing good shots on the feet and didn't need to be there. He ended it well I like how he walked away even before it was stopped!

Wandy vs Stann was a war! Wandys chin held up pretty well something we haven't seen in a while. Not the best game plan by Stann maybe he was expected it to go like the Leben fight and he was going to blast him in the first.

I think Diaz will be able to keep it interesting fighting off his back. I can see a lot of shit talking from the bottom! If he can get some sweeps/reversals so we can see some striking it will be interesting. Mind you during the Condit fight GSP kept it standing longer than usual he might do the same with Diaz.

Nick will have some moments when he is taken down but GSP is simply one of the hardest guys to sub and has such tremendous control when he is on top. I would be more shocked to see Nick get a sub from the bottom than KO standing. Georges typically takes away his opponents best weapons. I don't think he has the ability to hit and move the way Condit did and I don't think he can just pump a jab to disrupt Nick's punching the way he did against Kos. With Nick's history of bad TD defense I'll be pretty surprised if GSP doesn't shoot in after a double jab and GnP all night.

Hunt is the man. The guy was pretty much done fighting until the UFC called him out on having purchased his contract from Pride. Now he's racked up 4 wins in a row. He seems like he's been busting his butt to fix his ground game. It's still not exactly black belt BJJ but it's way better than he had before. He actually seems to use his big gut and short stature to his advantage on the ground. Wicked pumped to see him pick up that win.

For the Sanchez Gomi fight, I actually left to grab some more beer because I assumed the decision was so clearly in Gomi's favor. Should have known better, but that's what happens when you leave it to the judges in MMA.

And as always, fun to see Wandy back in form.

Check out Struve's x-ray. For those who thought it was an early stoppage, Hunt shattered his jaw with that last hook. Hunt has scary power, even in the late rounds when he's tired.

This was one of the best cards from top to bottom imo, the facebook prelims were awesome as well. When hunt and wandy got the wins my bud and me were literally jumping up and down since we were pride fans back in the day. Gomi got shafted big time I felt, but once again we may have been slighlty biased, but from reading everything else seems like most anyome thought gomi deserved the win. Always fun to see bruce lee roy get a win, that korean dude was doing good in the first round but he seemed to gas really quick and was never able to do much after takin leeroy down. I really didn't think wandy could pull it off and he should just call it a day after that victory.
