This must be something like the Bellew situation where Warren doesn't come through with the agreed fights in the agreed time period and the fighter can terminate the contract. Matchroom already went through the courts over that one and won and Warren isn't even suing them this time, he's just going after Burns. Warren only has Cleverly left. Hopkins will be in for a big payday for the Cleverly fight.

I can't understand how this is Warren's fault though. A promotor can surely not be held responsible for a fighter getting injured. I was skeptical myself but Vazquez has produced numerous documents to prove he was medically unfit to fight. I'm no Warren fan but I genuinely can't understand how Burns can walk away. Warren offered a replacement opponent but Burns said he wanted unification. What else could be done? Other than Broner, Vazquez was the best possible opponent for Burns. Broner is tied up now so what is Matchroom going to deliver that is better than the Vazquez fight?

I think Burns has made a better move for the long term, but his timing and reasoning is all wrong.

Vasquez pulled out "injured" a couple of weeks after rumours spread the fight wasn't a done deal (hmmm). Then the date was moved to April 20th

In the last six months, Burns has had Liam Walsh (lol) and Jose Ocampo (lol) fall through and now Vasquez. There's only so much shit you can take before making a change. Good for him.
