    Default RIP Jeff Hanneman

One of the guitar players died of liver failure. He had also been suffering from a skin disease- a flesh eating disorder supposedly from a spider bite.

I had a friend, 13 or 14 years ago, and he got bit by a spider and it got infected and started eating the flesh off his left hand. To the bone in places along his fingers. And I know from personal experience that the right infection, for long enough, will play hell with your organs.

Yeah shocking stuff mate. We got one here called a white tail; long thin bastards with legs that point out the front and they have a little white spot on an elongated tail.

I read the other day...Was he a rugby or a soccer player, that was carrying a snake off the field. It bit him and he died. You guys have some ultra-toxic stuff there.

We lost Chrissy Amphlett here just last week. Very close to home, I can see her home town from here on a clear night across the bay.

    RIP CHRISSY!

That one suprised me. I didn't see her being 53, but I forget that I'm near 50.

Snakes are beautiful and misunderstood creatures. They are shy and timid animals who only attack if they feel they are threatened. They belong here as much as we do.

Was sad to hear of Jeff's passing. Saw Slayer a few times the last was in Poland as part of the Big 4 show. A vastly underrated writer and guitarist . Kerry King tends to get all the plaudits but the vast bulk of the best and most iconic Slayer material is Jeff's. RIP

On further reflection, it appears that a spider bite did not cause his death. It was, in fact, more 'rock n roll' than that...alcohol.
