Default Macklin rates Golovkin as "above world class" P4P as 1 or 2

It seems it is not only fans who can be accused of using hyperbole where Golovkin is concerned.

Matthew Macklin: Gennady Golovkin is heir to Floyd Mayweather's pound-for-pound throne | Latest | Boxing News

"He’s very clever, he’s relaxed, his timing’s excellent. It was a big ring and it felt like a telephone box. “There’s always things you’d do different. I’m not going to take away from his win. It was a great win, he caught me with a good shot and he was winning the fight anyway. If I’d fought him differently I think it might have been a different fight, you don’t like to say this as a fighter, but the outcome might not have been any different. He’d have beaten me anyway. He’s top, top draw.”
Macklin remains convinced that he is world class but now eyes other champions, like Peter Quillin, Daniel Geale or even Sergio Martinez, in his quest for that elusive title. “Golovkin I think he’s above world class. I think he’s heir to Mayweather. I think he’s pound-for-pound one or two. That’s where he’s going. I think he’ll probably prove that over the next 12 months, if people fight him,” said Macklin.

He is a terrific fighter, and will be extremely hard for anyone around his weight to beat. I think he stands a good chance to be as dominant as anyone aside from Floyd over the course of a year or two, that's not really out there. If he were American or something I don't think he'd ever crack the world rankings, but that goes without saying.

o well if macklin sais so....his accomplishments in boxing are tremendous. GGG is defintly a notch above pacqiou, and marquez, and andre ward, and klitchko and martinez, especially in the form of accomplishments...his resume is just...man...speechless when i think about it.

I think he's more accomplished than any American fighter will ever be.

Of course. Sugar Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, who else you got? Those guys fought nobody like Ishida or Rosado, it's just revisionist history. Look at the haters Golovkin attracts, guys like Onetime so passionate in their feeble attempts to chop him down from the heavens. A true mark of greatness, only found in blood lines dating back much further than the Americas. Golovkin is a direct descendant of Genghis Khan, and he will have as many children himself once the American audience realizes that boxing is rightfully his.

I called it, this whole thing has seemed dirty, the guy beats 154 pounders Ishida, Ouma and Gabe. Proksa, Tapia and Macklin are good wins but to say future p4p is truly a slap in the face to boxing. GGG has power, he cuts off the ring well but he is not Floyd. Macklin is the hardest puncher he's faced without head gear and I have a feeling that's because he has no head movement. One punch is all it takes to end this hype, maybe that's why GGG's team acted like Mayweayher when talking about Quillin.

He looks like a totally different fighter since than but the Ouma fight makes me say he's not great prime RJJ would have brutalized that untested chin.

I know im just talking smack, but my old boxing coach said something interesting, he said when the elasticity(of the skin) of a fighters body changes, its roids, and i noticed he looks much different from the early days but could just be a tan
