Default "The One" and why its a no win situation for floyd

For a very simple reason : The excuses are already lined up!

There are too many excuses already waiting ,no matter what fashion floyd wins in.

    1. Alvarez was weight drained
    2. He's too young and not yet at his full potential
    3. He's already a big 154. 152 made him weak
    4. CATHCWEIGHT CATCHWEIGHT CATCHWEIGHT !!

Now, im not saying these are not legitimate explanations, granted that floyd does emerge the victor. What i am saying is that eitther way, floyd should have done 2 things

1 waited until later in his showttime contract to fight alvarez
    2. Should have done 154

He will not get credit for this fight because of his contradicting statements toward pacquiao's catchweight victories. He went from telling the world "i want to fight a guy where he is comfortable" (about cotto) to fighting at a catchweight for a title...(which should be banned). Although i think alvarez will be ready no matter what and will be in prime form for floyd....the fact still remains that its a catchweight fight and shouldnt have the "154" title at stake. If same day weigh ins were still in play alvarez would either be a super middleweight or light heavy......floyd A natural welter if u ask me....doesnt even make 154 for his light middle weight fights.

Now lets talk about experience and age. Alvarez is still a boy at 23 and is at a vast experience disadvantage. Although his # of fights are comparable to floyd's, the quality of them are not, as we have seen him fight severely smaller foes or severely outmatched whereas floyd has dominated world champions in multiple divisions. Trout was canelo's most legit 154 match in my view, and i thought trout outboxed him for the most part and flaws were exposed in canelo's stamina and technique. Given this explanation, people are already ready to say "he wasnt ready".

I believe this fight will make big bucks no doubt, but the aftermath of the decision , which i believe is floyd by SD (if alvarez can press the action and keep his stamina up) , will ultimately be a flop for floyd and his career. What do you think?

Good post. And Canelo fans will "see" your 4 excuses, and raise you one or two more.

    Thanks man

And yea, its sad that people can come to be a biased fan of one man in a sport of numerous talents. Love the sport, not one combatant, thats absurd!

If mayweather loses his 0 , so be it. It will bring more drama and a rematch anyway. Lol

Some people will always look to discredit wins and find excuses when none are there. Even if it was at 154, some would say that Canelo has already outgrown the weight and should be fighting at 160. He could have another few big victories behind him but people would say they were no preparation for Floyd (always a good excuse since there's no other fighter who has a comparable style married with his skill level). These fighters could also be retroactively be described as bums - they lost to Canelo, so they must be!

Unless Canelo comes into the ring looking like Oscar v Pac, Floyd will get lots of credit for beating him, especially if it's decisive. The people who won't give him credit would never give him any under any circumstances anyway.

^ Good post. It's worth mentioning that Canelo offered to meet him at 152 as well, Floyd didn't demand a catch weight and it was never a point of contention in negotiating.

From what I've seen the majority of posters here think that Floyd will beat Canelo and have called the fight weeks ago with the reason being that Canelo just isn't good enough.

One thing I can say that we can't underestimate each boxer's stat and they can do on the fight against one another, though Alvarez is too young but if you take a look at his status, height, reach, wins, loss, not that too much difference with Floyd, right? This is something that you also consider.. and I think the younger the boxer is, the more resistance he has.. im just being fair!
