Obscure journeymen that we liked!

As a result of the recent buzz about Lolenga Mock, you guys made me think about other obscure journeymen that we grew to love- sometimes on the spot, or years after we see their brilliance.

I think it was done before- I think I started it too- but what are some of the journeymen you liked. Obscure guys that rose to the occasion to have one good fight, or one good sparring session, and that was IT. lololol...

Emmanuel Augustus HAS to be top on the list. He came back after a shiite decision to stop Coutney Burton in the rematch. Was on the way to BEATING Floyd Mayweather before the ref stopped the fight unjustly.

Another guy I liked was the INFAMOUS Bert Cooper. The fight's he had against Evander Holyfield and Michael Moorer were fights of legend.

The fight with Moorer only lasted 5 rounds, but I can watch those 5 rounds again and again before I sit and watch some of these HW fights.

Who else tops your list?

(Ross Purity gets a special mention as well. He was the first person to chin-check Wlad. After that, chin-checking Wlad was something any fast and powerful HW could do.)

He whupped Ray Mercer when Mercer was a top fighter, and it cost Mercer a huge payday because Mercer's next fight was to be for Riddick Bowe's Heavyweight Title. There was a hearing over Mercer's alleged bribe attempt during the fight, trying to get Ferguson to lay down for $100 thousand, but Ferguson wouldn't do it, and continued to motor on, winning the decision over Mercer.
Ferguson was tough and fearless, he'd step in the ring to fight anybody.

Yes, yes... Jesse "The Boogeyman" Ferguson. He was rated as a top contender with championship quality. Analysts really felt he would be able to "do it"- and particularly compete with Mike Tyson.

The hype around Ferguson now kinda makes me think about the shiite hype around Seth Mitchell. Seth Mitchell CLEARLY doesn't have the skills or the resume to be in the top 15- but he was, and he was being touted as a major contender. Thank God Arreola saw to it that the fraud was exposed- if J. Banks hadn't already done so.

One of the best was when HBO brought him in as cannon fodder for humongous rebounding Sampson Pouha. Jesse proceeded to literally spank him like a shell shocked toddler caught coloring on the wall. Great night for the Boogeyman.
