    Default Ruslan Provodnikov...

Anyone Usually off a big night you run into multiple threads. Now I know he isn't a p4p household name...cough... but THAT is a foty canidate with a great story and new life in division and...nothing

The kid is for real! Hell of a story and realization and a shot in the arm the the sport, I think. Off the Bradley fight that I thought he pulled out I'd love to see a rematch. I also loved what he finally got to say about the "myth that Bradley decided to fight that way"..."I made him fight that way". The term limited has been dropped on him alot, but he is far improved from 4,5 yrs ago. His jab still needs work and attention. Tremendous short hooker and I think Roach has done wonders with him in regards to pacing and mixing his attack. He was stepping off Alvarados jab and burying the left hook, usually followed by right hooks to the body. Not sure what they have in store for him but I think hes put that "just a espn guy" bs to bed now. Respect! So....

Thurman....Bradley x2.....Matthysse....think they'll push Alvarado rematch? It'll be fun while it lasts, thats obvious.

Anyone know how long Roach has been working with Prod. I tried to look it up but couldn't find the answer

I think Roach had trained him for the Torres fight though he wasn't working the corner. That put his short 'experiment' with McGirt to an end, then they brought him in to spar Manny in preperation for the Pac-Bradley fight and has been trainer since. Not long, but benefits are showing.

Thanks. I now remember them saying that prior to the Bradley fight. Prod is incredible, he just keeps coming forward. Doesn't seem to worry about anyone's power.

Provo is beatly and I remember thinkin shitbrickhouse when I saw him a few years back on espn. Fun fight and provo is machine like and hope he can make as much money as possible as I don't see a very long career for him, but who knows.

Can you imagine the sparring sessions between him and Ray Beltran?

Providnikov should face Matthysse next. It'd be a big statement if Khan tried him.

He's a killer, tough as nails and really loves to fight. Like how he still goes to the body hard when he smells blood, has a very cerebral approach and some heavy hands. Obviously he can and probably will be outboxed, but he matches up well with all the top 140 guys for now.

Apparently Roach's style is to SWING like a mutha-effer. He WON that Bradley fight. He was robbed. He should rematch Bradley. NOW!!!
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

He's one of the better 140lb fighters, not the best. I'd enjoy a Matthyse fight but I doubt that happens.

the problem is that at the moment he is with TR and he isnt going to fight any GB fighters. all i was thinking during the fight was that i hope rios beats pac because a prod vs rios fight would be no question FOTY.

the difference with alvarado is that he is tough and has a good punch but isnt a great brawler. he does better brawling for a while then using his jab. thats how he beat rios. when he brawled with rios, he lost. rios wouldnt step back and try to box with prod. they would be in each others face all fight because neither of them know how to do anything else and both would try to prove that they are more of a man than the other.
