Ken Hershman says Hbo is all about what the fans want and fans are bored to death by rigo so no more rigo on their network..

Really HBO? You guys really want to get out of the fight game huh?

You have one of the most naturally talented fighters around and you dump him because you can't figure out how to properly promote him after 13 pro fights... You sad fuckers!

Hopefully Rigo gets the respect and credit he deserves from this.

Yes Rocco but only the very few of us enjoy pure boxing. Hbo is about entertainment and majority of the subscribers want to see action..

Hbo need to entertain to keep the numbers up..

Damn shame! Rigo is the perfect fighter to put on a ppv undercard. HBO is slipping bad.

Agreed he does not have to be the main event and he beat Donaire, he deserves more respect.

Maybe Lampley should try to get on the SHOWTIME team. HBO boxing seems to be slip sliding away.
I can see Rigo's side of it, why change when he wins every fight.
I can also see my side of it, Rigo is like a machine, the same thing over and over. I appreciate how good he is, but it still bores the hell out of me.

Showtime would take him. People want to see championship boxing, at the core.

What are they going to say when they drop Andre Ward for the same reason?

If HBO truly believes in showcasing battlers then you're right Ward needs to go too.

Hbo just told the world they are not into boxing. A pseudo boxing commission/promoter/ranking org. I hope they tank.

This is one of the telling signs that boxing is a dying sport: the greatest talents are being shunned by the networks and the fans.

It's sad, but people don't give a fuck about the sweet science anymore.

It's not longer "hit and not get hit", it's "hit and get hit repeatedly".

Definitely. It looks like HBO wants to be in the brain damage business instead of the boxing business.

I think it's ignorant and short-sighted. People like winners. People are intrigued by and want to see athletes who have mastered their craft -- Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, Peyton Manning.

Mayweather understands this and that's how he's always promoted himself -- "skills pay the bills" -- and it made him and HBO piles and piles of money. It almost defies belief that after the run HBO had with Floyd (not to mention Hopkins), that they would then turn around and decide that they can't be bothered to promote Rigondeaux.

Thank god at least for Kellerman, and for writers like this guy (2nd Annual Big Mac Awards: Rigo, Dibella, Bernstein Rule - TheSweetScience.com) who get it and aren't afraid to speak up about it.

I don't think Floyd's fights have been more action filled then Rigos? Politics in boxing is so frustrating

Hbo is dumbing it down to the point of mental retardation ffs. Somewhere Lampley is doing cartwheels and I told ya so. He's to busy dropping bullshit like "many insiders have likened Glen Tapia to a Arturo Gatti " ...who? You?...right before he goes and gets beat to a bloody pulp...by another 'network darling' who we all know is a ko waiting to happen. Don't be a sucker. Hbo can blow me.
