    Default Stuff on lower back

I started doing some peekaboo types of exercises and immediately I got issues with my lower back

I was kind prepared for it, because I read

"Patterson's back was so bad that cutman Al Silvani often had to crack his back between rounds even in Championship bouts. The way to not have to go through something like that is to not do things with the spine that the spine isn't designed to do"

What kind of lower back exercises can prepatpare onne's back?

    Here is what I found:

Just doing bodyweight exercises isnt going to cut it imo.

You want as much support for your spine as is possible so it takes the strain off the spine and onto the muscles of the spinal erectors and midsection.

So weighted "good mornings" and weighted stiff legged deadlifts, also weighted cable crunches, DB leg raises, and weighted diagonally up and down wood chop style exercises. (wait till your lower back is FULLY recovered b4 you do these and do them with perfect form)

I dont understand why its a problem for the spine? I try slipping the way Tyson slips and punching with that slip etc and it doesnt affect my spine at all!? What gets your spine the worst?

Its usually a Hip alinement problem that causes the problem, brought by the dominant side. Hips work on a 6 x6 movement that goes out of line everything does, above it and below. People dont stretch that area enough
Pain lasts a only a minute, but the memory will last forever....

You'll likely have tight anterior hip muscles and a weak/inactive posterior chain.

Psoas, adductor and piriformis stretches combined with strengthening the glutes, hamstrings and spinal erectors will be a good start.

No ammount of stretching your back will help long term. That's treating the symptom, not the cause.

Also, try and keep a neutral spine when boxing. Ideally any movement of the head or upper torso should be produced from the ankles and hips, not spinal flexion.

Stay relaxed and don't let the pain disrupt your focus. Get a good stretch in before and after your workouts. My back gives me problems at times as well because of my last job but you just have to push through it man.

Unless the pain brings you down to your knees, that's my two cents.
