No at this stage it is not a step up. Holt is a 140lber and is best days are behind him. Brook needs to be fighting solid Welterweights right now. Look at Thurman's level of opposition. That is were he needs to be at this year.
Brooks will destroy Holt, he should fight Diaz just to show off against a former Khan opponent.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Uguys underestimate holt too much.. brook has yet to face a real puncher and kendall has deceptive punching power in both hands..
Wake me up when brook fights someone with a pulse..
It's not about underestimating Holt, it's about Brook's career. Kell is fighting at Welterweight and he's now in a position in being mentioned with the big names in the division. He was ready to step it up years ago but he has been carefully matched since joining Matchroom and it's disappointing because his career is stalling. Apart from Porter, I wouldn't think he'd beat any of the 147lb Champions and I don't think he'd beat Keith Thurman either. Fighters like Senchenko, Carson Jones & Matthew Hatton do not show you've stepped up to World level and fighting a 140lber in Kendall Holt who is currently struggling to compete at World level 7lbs south is not going to disuade anyone from think he is being kept in a plastic bubble. He needs a genuine contender at his actual weightclass otherwise all this slow building would have been a waste of time.
