Too versatile, just as fast if not faster, better chin for SURE. Leonard KO 10.

it would definately be an interesting fight
floyd has a tougher time with fighters with a bit of speed
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
If you don't get hit you don't need a chin. But I disagree SRL had a much better one. He was stopped remember.
Plus Leonard was getting dropped all over the place in his last few fights (even before the Camacho fight) and he was only 35, Floyd is 37.
Floyd out points his IMO.
You say tomato,
‘n I say …… it correctly.
I don't think anyone ko's floyd . I'd say Leonard SD in a close classic fight
i agree that SRL wins. he is just better and floyd fighting guys with speed doesnt suit him well.
In a 15 rounder Floyd would have retired.... by round 12 or 13....
Floyd hates guys that have high punch volumes... Floyd can't handle pressure... continual pressure. Take a look at the Emanuel Agustus fight, and you would see WHY Floyd said it was his toughest fight and WHY Castilo gave him problems in the first fight and WHY he will NEVER fight Manny Pacqioua.
In fact, the other Sugar, Sugar Shane Mosely, if he had fought Shane when Shane was at his peak, Shane would have knocked him spark out... it would have been a massacre.
Bigger man George, bigger punch!

An injured floyd sr took srl 10 rounds.
He couldnt use his best hand during the whole fight..
Believe it or not when I think about this hypothetical fight I think about the ODLH vs Floyd fight.
imo, with ODLH height and snap he could put on his punches would have won that fight if he just would have landed only a handful of more punches.
Floyd was on the defensive the whole fight and ODLH didn't land a punch almost. A younger ODLH could have had the conditioning and speed to take this fight imo.
This fight matters to me because Sugar Ray had this kind of umph on his punches only he picks his shots much better, sets things up much better and is even faster with better footwork.
I dont see Sugar Ray KO'ing Floyd but I see Floyd going into a defensive shell, Sugar landing more punches than ODLH, not getting hit as much as ODLH and winning a UA.
It could possibly be an exciting fight and Sugar win by KO late. I say this because in the toughest fight Floyd ever had against Castillo 1 he did open up and go toe to toe with Castillo so I know its in there for him to make a mistake and leave his game plan. I think Sugar could trick him into this mistake.
Close fight. Very close fight. Floyd would have to be all kinds of defensive to stop his face from melting under the heat - but he could do it and make it look easy if he really wanted to. Just would have to be very negative - move move move move move.

Original & Best: The Sugar Man
In 1978 when 22 year old Leonard boxed the almost 26 year old Floyd Sr, Leonard was a novice having turned pro just the year before in 1977.
In contrast, Floyd Sr had been a pro since 1974!
Basically Floyd Sr was just one of those tomato cans that managers feed to real prospects to develop the prospect in the early stages. At that point, despite Floyd's longer career and deceptively decent record of 15-1, there was not a single fighter of consequence that he had fought. Several of Floyd Sr's opponents had more losses than wins!
Floyd's experience was enough for him to fight a survival-minded fight for 10 rds, basically Floyd's goal was to see the final bell without getting knocked out.... and he almost made it getting stopped in the last rd!
