Actually he is getting released today. His cat scan came back clean and other tests were also fine. I guess he was taken out on a stretcher with oxygen so there was concern something was wrong. Damn he took a brutal beating, Porters the shit.
That's probably it for Paulie
yeah, probably time for Paulie to hang it up. That was painful to watch last night. I actually thought Paulie had a good chance. I had not seen much of Porter and I misjudged him. Paul's had a good career but he can't hang with the young whippersnappers anymore
Probably precautionary because he took a BEATING.
He seemed fine in the post fight interview, at least considering the beating he had just received. He was kind of asking to get caught in a bad spot with the way he kept giving Porter the back of his head, some of those cuffing shots looked nasty. Definitely hope it's the last we see of him.
You can hear in Paulie's voice that even HE KNOWS that it is "time".... no shame in that. He had a great run. He felt he could have done it again. But it just isn't there anymore Paulie... you have a great second career in journalism.

Plus, Paulie has been figured out already- just keep punching at him. Especially in this late stage of his career- he cant counterpunch you effectively to stop you from coming forward. With younger guys, who can punch hard all night, he cant possibly weather every storm. Porter and Khan were FAR from economical in their punches...
Paulie had a good run, for the talent he actually had- which was one of a great boxer, with limited power and moderate speed. Paulie's greatest talent was making you miss- he is, in my opinion, better at that (especially in his younger years) than Mayweather is now.
I always laughed when Paulie made guys miss, and miss badly... hahahhahahhahaa.... its like he was never in the spot you thought he was.

I hope he calls it a day and being surrounded by guys on the other side, network and media, it'll give him a different perspective to do so. He's one of the more objective and sharpest minds on the mic today and it'd be a shame to lose that. He's had a great run, no shame in his game. Maybe minus the hair weave fiasco, and the atomic melt down after the Diaz fight but that's it![]()
Come on you can't be serious with that? Paulie making people miss better than Mayweather? Are you kidding me? I have grown to appreciate Paulie, but I have never been able to understand what makes people think he's so "slick", he just isn't. He is a high volume jabber who was pretty good defensively and always came into the ring with a great gameplan but to put him in the category of a Mayweather, Hopkins, Toney etc. is kind of a joke. Against who? He looked spectacular against Cherry and his first fight against N'dou. Fine, when else? He has always had ridiculously quick feet and good balance up top which is why he had so much success but come on he got battered by Cotto, Hatton and Khan. Ngoudjo and Ndou (2nd) both tagged him consistently and damn near won their fights against Paulie in what I'm assuming you would consider his prime. Harder to hit than Mayweather?
