Shannon Briggs vs. Mike Perez

After Perez's last two outings he would make a good stepping stone for Briggs IMO.

It could also turn into a terribly slow paced boring fight where no clear victor emerges...

I think Briggs has enough left to beat Perez and earn his way back into contention a bit.

Briggs doesn't deserve a Klitschko shot yet and needs maybe two more wins against top 10 ranked fighters. Perez would be a good start.

I see no way it would be a very good fight.. Either Perez could actually get himself into shape and throw enough to put Briggs in a shell and win, or we'd see a complete stinker with neither man doing much of anything. Perez is very tough and has good instincts, I don't think BRiggs would have much of a chance to score a KO without actually working for it, and when is the last time he did that.

Sure Perez has a chin but he has nowhere near the power to effect Briggs in the least and Jennings walked him back a few times and jennings looks half of Briggs size and quarter of his power.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone would want to see Perez vs Briggs. Briggs is used up and Perez doesn't have the heart for it, in my opinion.

I've liked Briggs for over a decade. He's a bit like Judah as he was blessed with a lot of talent but is an underachiever.

I have no illusions about his potential at this point hence I came up with this competitive matchup, tho I think he could beat Perez.

Briggs is the most erratic fighter in the HW division for many years. Like you say sometimes hes good sometimes he is awful.
