I think he could still give Brandon Rios some problems, and maybe has a punchers chance against Khan.
He would have been the most fearsome welterweight in the world if he didn't move up in weight.
Just an all-around entertaining fighter.
you know you have like basketball and blind football in the paralympics
why not boxing?
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
It is a shame his career ended the way it did he's so young and had so much left to offer the sport. I hope he continues to smile and I wish him nothing but the best.
What he lacked in power he made up for in volume...I think he could have had amazing fights with Cotto, Floyd, Pacquiao, Kirkland, Canelo...the man had a bunch left to give in the ring, but hopefully he finds another positive outlet to pour his energy in to.
Doctor says the spine is bruised not broken and after 2-3 years from injury theres a possibility he could start to walk again.
I really like Paul Williams and feel he could have given Mayweather all kinds of problems if they fought. As long as he stayed away from southpaws he probably would have been undefeated.
After he beat Margarito he was forced to move up in weight which was brave but very dangerous.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I was thinking the same this week and watched his recent interviews and it's amazing how humble he is. His fight vs margarito was amazing. He threw so many punches for a 147 fighter!! I do miss him.
Spinal cord injuries don't work that way, even if they're just bruised. Unfortunately that's the nature of that beast, but as long as he's getting up every day smiling at doing what he does that's all that matters. Hopefully medical science will be able to help guys like us be able to walk again. I wondered he's doing any advocacy work towards fixing the spinal cord injuries. Would be nice to have a face to promote advocacy for stem cell research.
Had he ever fought and utilized his outstanding natural physical gift he may have been even more of something special. The guy has one of the most positive and determined outlooks after tragedy I've seen in awhile.
