Dont you think thats a rear swing? I saw no hook.

Also Id have thought a lead right hook would come off a right hand that was out as the lead arm.

What's the difference as long as it lands and is hard isn't that an effective punch?https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ww7rLQMG3jo

I'd say leaping left hook from a long distance is more a swing in terms of body mechanics

I dont get you guys terminology.
The guy threw a right hand off his rear arm. Where does a left hook come in?
Where does the lead arm come in? The lead arm is what you lead with.
Or do you call it a lead hook because that what you think he would lead a fight exchange off of?
Its a rear swing in my book. Its not a leaping left hook its a step and a shuffle with a right swing.
Makes no difference to the punch and whether or not you use it or you dont, but why call stuff by the reverse to whats occurring

    Oh I get it.

You think a leaping right hook or a leaping left hook is more of a swinging shot than this guy above in the video. Yeah for sure.

Ah Im with the plan all of a sudden.

Fair enough shame it isnt called that.

    Its a leaping left hook

    Or a leaping right hook.

Funny isnt it the terminology we use and the variables between.

Yeah I think the mechanics of it are more like a jump to close distance fast with an overhand bomb attached to it.

Works well if you square up ,go peek a boo slightly bend the legs go low so you are coiled up then follow them out with the leaping left hook. Or leaping right hook if you want to go the other way.

You could put a swinging shot on it from the start for sure, you could also do it like a overhand bomb or a straight shot, cross, a little hook on the end of the shot, a swing, or straight it would all fit in on the end if you had the right situation.

But I think I get your point it isnt like a hook, not with a planting and turning of the body and hips etc with a locked arm in hook mode. Very true.
