Default A Good Fight To Learn From

Given the conversation here about punching technique, footwork, and so on. Watch Canizales move, how his feet are always in the exact same position; under his shoulders, so he can move and punch. Watch how he is always in a position to punch, and how, after every punch, he is always perfectly set to throw another punch. Note how his balance is perfect, how he punches fast and sharp and hard. then note how he sets up certain punches and then really digs them; the right hand early, the hook to the body in the 4th and 5th.

Your shoulders need to be over your hips. If they aren't, you have either already fallen down or are about to fall down. How about keeping your feet under your shoulders? When you do that, you can move, you can punch fast and hard...

Very good fight, thanks for the study material!

I think if I had one thing I don't love about Canizales it's that he squares his feet up a bit too much for my taste in the pocket. His left foot is often pointing out to the side instead of at the target or turned in slightly. I know it gives the advantage in left hooks and shortens the right hand, but I prefer to stay more lined up most of the time.
