Right we’ve not had a thread on this this year so here goes.

Who you picking ?

I’m pissed off this year as I’ve booked to go away on 3rd January and will miss the final ! I just assumed the final would be on New Years Day but it isn’t ffs.

Anyway I still think it’s Taylor’s to lose. All about how he handles it the moment someone puts pressure on him – which they will. He’s not as consistent as he was, understandable, but his consistency is still above everyone else’s as his averages show. If he gets to the final I think he’ll do it, even if it's against MVG, but Just can’t help thinking he’ll have a ‘bad’ night at some point when things don’t go his way – and he starts biting his dart flights !!

Van Gerwen is not looking the part yet for me to win it again – his opponents have had their chances but let him off the hook, but then again he’ll probably find another gear when he needs it.

Can’t really see anyone else with enough to win it – not over such long matches.

I think Bunting has an outside chance of getting to final - deserves to get there for his walk on song alone

I might buy a sky sports pass for nowtv to tune in whilst I'm off. I'm out of touch with the PDC because it's on sky and to be honest, it just cant compete with the Lakeside for glitz and glam, the BDO have got that 70's retro theme down to a tee, even the players averages are 70's

yes it is Bunting - current BDO champion and with a chance of being reigning champion of both codes at same time !

Not sure who the main man is in BDO these days (Bunting was clear favourite last year for BDO if I remember)

Well I thought Taylor was going out last night but he got through it. Huybrecht raised his game and missed few doubles early on - T20, Bull and D8 for a 126 checkout at one stage

Some of these young lads playing now are amazing - Bunting and Smith both averaged over 102, that's insane.

Taylor will get to the final now I'm sure.

Taylor will have the winner of Bunting-Barney, which I think will be Bunting, and he's already done Taylor on TV this year. I've backed Bunting so he definitely wont win the whole thing.

In the other half, Van Gerwen isn't playing well, Anderson is knocking in 100+ averages every game but always finds a way to deck it at the last hurdle, Peter Wright will probally plod him out of it. I think Van Gerwen will make the final playing crap (by his standards).

Agree re MVG probably getting there but poor by his standards - pressure of being champ ?

Anderson's scoring has always been phenomenal - but he is living proof that a fantastic average won't win you a match if you take 3 darts at every double !
