Default First fight at 31 ?

I have been training boxing since I was 26 so coming on to 5 years of training. I never intended to fight. I just wanted to do it for fitness. Now, I really just want to test myself. To see if I can survive in the ring. I've been training for a while so I want the experience of having a fight.

I am a big super heavy weight. 195 cm and 125 kg (I eat way too much food) I think that is 6'4" and about 280 pounds.

My concern is that I will look silly to fight at my age but I still really, really want to do it.

The other concern is around the additional danger of the SHW division. Can anyone provide information around these points ?

edit : I've never been particularly good at sports but I am powerful and have fast hands for my size.

    Hello

31 aint no age, and if someone says anything about it, you just beat the shit out of them in the ring and tell them they aint old enough for boxing. it's a good safe way to proven yourself what you can do and can't do, and it's not 4 am fight!

Fitness boxing is a different thing though, you should take some classes from a trainer.

A friend of a good friend of mine took up boxing at around 30 and had his first fight a few years after, he has had 2 pro fights so far(I mean pro as in on boxrec, I doubt he was paid much), he is in the superheavyweight range too, infact heavier that you he is 350 pounds. He lost both 4 round fights on close decisions, he is a big guy with a good few fat rolls but he didn't look silly to me at all, infact he is someone I look up to, it is very impressive to have th courage and bravery just to take on a challenge and I don't think it matters much if you win or lose... So errrr not that my opinion matters much but I don't think you have a silly dream at all.

I am unsure of what you mean.

Sorry i mean that it's a good way to test yourself, to see how far you can go, to challenge people, and it's in a safe way!

And when you said fitness boxing i thought you meant something like this.

But if you think you have the technique and the ability to protect yourself in the ring i think you should give it a go! All you need is to believe in yourself and none can stop you.

Just do it. You'll probably be matched up with someone of similar skill. Don't wait until you're 40 and then say "aww what if I tried fighting".
