    Default Froch v Golovkin

Apparently Negotiations are underway to put this on in England.

Sounds like a great matchup, that I would be very excited about. I wonder if it is just Froch keeping his name in the media while he decides what to do next though.

Thoughts about the chances of it happening ..... Or indeed how the fight might pan out.

I have a view, but it may surprise people!.

Apparently Eddie Hearn has said they are in negotiation's to make the fight happen and GGG would have to go up to 168 to fight Froch?

I'm gonna be in the minority but - I think Froch would be too strong for him, push him back and bash him up. Froch has quite a significant height and reach advantage.

What happens to GGG when his murderous left hook and right hand start bouncing back off old big nose's bonce?

Na i have to agree with you.I feel GGG will go toe to toe with him and froch's natural size will be too much in the later rounds.
I think what makes this such a great one thou, is that there be so many opinions on how why and who will win the fight.Get it made

I think most fans would lean towards Froch as he is much bigger, battle tested, clever, and packs a wallop himself.

If this happens ill take GGG as he has all kinds of momentum and he cuts the ring down so well. He's HUNGRY. Froch I don't know about anymore.

If if happens, what a great matchup.

Froch has proven time and time again that he is the real deal. Teak tough, great chin, always fit and he can seriously hit. Totally proven, and we probably know everything about Froch the fighter.

Golovkin is much more unknown. He has been blasting through guys, cutting off the ring beautifully, carrying devastating power even with half shots. He looks easy to hit, but has shown a good chin.

All the questions here are around Golovkin. Can he carry his power up to a higher weight? What happens if he gets hit by a serious puncher like Froch. What happens when his opponent doesn't just try to survive?

I think Golovkin might surprise us all in this fight. I think he comes out fast to try and catch Froch cold (as others have done early on. Froch can be hurt early on before he has go his rhythm and I think Golovkin will pounce on this. I wonder why people always run from GGG and we will find out if his footwork is so good that people are always forced back under pressure.

Golovkin likes to fight at closer range than Carl, so I can see Frichsbextra weight ans strength negating him in the inside.

If Carl bullies Golovkin up close, I think GGG pulls his rabbit out of a hat. He was a stand out amateur, and I do think this murderous punching assassin can outbox Carl through the middle and final rounds for a points decision.

    There, I said it

Clearly the opposite will now happen

Froch is too easy to hit. Golovkin stops him for me. Quite early on too.

I so hope this happens. Actually lean Froch slightly as well, but it's no guarantee that he'd take GGG's power that well, and if he did get dropped or hurt early I think the Kazakh is a better finisher than any of the other guys to manage it. Basically no way they wouldn't both land big early as well, it would be a crazy fight.

This won't happen. I'll be really surprised if this gets signed. I don't see Golovkin going to the UK at this point and I think if Froch wanted to fight again it'd be against a fighter like Chavez with very little risk. Froch is a warrior but I think he's mentally checked out of fighting again. I think it's like somebody else said in another thread, Froch doesn't really want another fight but his ego won't let him leave the limelight. Kinda like telling Floyd Mayweather how he knocked George Groves out at Wembley in front of 80,000 people.

I totally agree. Froch, even half-retired, will smash GGG. Froch is too big, Golovkin's defense is suspect, and Golovkin's level of competition has done nothing to prepare him for someone like Froch. It won't even be competitive.

I never like half retired fighters. "I can't get up for X, I can't get up for Y" then retire. I think Froch gets stretched.

One thing going in GGG's Favour is that Froch is always there to be hit, he does have a great chin but how many times would he be able to take big shots from GGG?

I would go with Froch but it would be a cracking fight

I want to see the fight also , but Froch has a very poor defence GGG is an accurate fighter , and if Groves can hurt Froch , then GGG knocks him out inside 5.
But hey Froch has proved us wrong before so lets get it on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
