I think Tyson as he was fast, dynamic and could hit you from all angles. Pac was scary in a similar way, but is kind of tiny. Tyson was big and strong though and still lightning fast with it. At least with Foreman you know you are getting clubbed down and might be able to see it coming, but with Tyson you worry that you won't get up or will be doing a chicken dance and really wouldn't know you had been hit. I think that unpredictability would be very scary.

    Thomas Hearns was scary
    Barclay was ugly
Julian Jackson had precise power to put you to sleep.
Nigel Benn was insane power to carp your pants.

    Following fighters and reasons why:
    1. Sonny Liston: Original thug/master of intimidation. Great boxing skills, lethal power and a definite mean streak.
    2. Prime/young George Foreman: Bigger and meaner than Liston.
    3. Tyson: Faster than the top two, meaner looking, huge puncher, and not right mentally.
    4. Hagler: Mean dude, looked mean, great skills, and monster punch.
    5. Ike Ibeabuchi: big, mean, strong, and certifiably insane.
    6. Gerald Mclellan: Oozed aggression and violence. Huge for his weight class.
    7. Light heavy version of Michael Moorer: frightening power and one of the meanest guys in history. Porking up to heavyweight took away his edge from cutting weight.
    8. Nigel Benn: his resilience, punch, underrated skill, and mean streak made him a formidable and intimidating foe.
    9. Lennox/Vitali/Wlad: I'm 5'10, 190lbs. Those guys r HUGE, skilled, and can PUNCH!!!!
    10. Evander Holyfield: Best case scenario is you go through hell and get the win, paying a huge price with the toll the fight takes on you. Worst case? Evander comes in motivated and stops you in a war. Neither sound enjoyable to me....

I think Duran would give the worse beatdown. Most of the other guys mentioned would lay you out quick.

Duran on the other hand, would rough you up all over and have you in ICU.

Lots of menacing dudes mentioned, McClellan, Lt hvy Moorer and later had a special kind of 'scary random' going on, Duran and Tyson had that low key poker face and shark eyes that convinced you that your ass was kicked before they even left the corner. Its not always menace either..you have more obscure guys with reps or traits. Sure Valuev was limited and moved with the fluidity of a aircraft carrier, but would you want your face buried in that body hair? Golota based entirely on unpredictability. Facing bombers is bad enough but not knowing if he'd zombie bite you, billy goat ram you, smash the balls or all of the above is worse. Jeff Fenech, Jirov , Dempsey and Jorge Arce looked like guys coming to break your kneecaps. Oh, and Anne Wolf. Female, male or whatever..Wolf could def make you leave a puddle.

Tyson and Duran for me.they looked intimidating and icy cold. As much as I like Benn, I don't see it. Especially when he had his dreadlocks, he was always too trendy looking.
Mind you , after the first bell rang, that's probably a different story. 😄

I agree I could just never take Nigel Benn seriously. There was nothing scarier friend about him to me. I could have with his ass if I had gotten in better shape and taking boxing more seriously. Nigel Benn is not scary or intimidating at all.
