Good fight IMO, Jennings is too quick I think he'll stop Ortiz but it'll be a good action fight.
How is Jennings to quick? Ortiz has some seriously fast hands for a big guy. I think he might stop Jennings tbh, great match though.
Was hoping talk of Jennings v Wilder would see it happen but this will do just fine. If Wilder won't fight a top ten guy they can fight each other! Give the very sharp punching and physical to Ortiz but he is seriously lacking rounds. His toughest adversity may very well come from a blown up lt hvy who repeatedly hit him low, elbowed and had Ortiz cut up but he kept his cool. This is a huge step up experience wise all things considered.
I'm thinking of the trouble Jennings had against Perez, and see Ortiz as similar, a Cuban southpaw with fast hands, only one who is bigger and has a much better punch. Definitely could be that he'll fade down the stretch as Perez did against Jennings though.
Looks like there will be VADA testing for this fight.![]()
Ortiz has fast hands for a big guy, sure. Jennings is more athletic, he has good footwork, he has good reactions, and far and away the better record. Ortiz's biggest win was a NC (due to a failed drug test) over a cruiserweight. Jennings has fought some talented guys...and he went the distance with Wlad which not many folks can do.
