Default Emmanuel Augustus- how is he doing?

He was one of the first guys who actually got me into boxing, I remember seeing him a couple of times on ESPN as a teenager and thinking what a badass, and what fun. Just rewatched his fight with Mickey Ward as it's awesome(although a joke of a decision imo), wondering if anyone knows anything about his condition now? Take it he made it through the shooting, but all I can find about him now is that he is currently homeless. Can he speak, walk etc?

I too would like to know how he's doing these days. He was a cult hero for many of us fans.

Total warrior with a entertaining mentality. They really fed him to the wolves when he took on a young Provodnikov. I still remember the thudding shots he took like a stud

Yeah, he really slipped A LOT of Ward's shots. Remember what ref Smoger did at the end? grabbed them both and kissed them LMAO!!!!!!!

Hope is doing okay as well

A long and difficult read. One bad break after another, starting very early, and some of the later ones possibility exacerbated by his apparent need for a simple lifestyle and independent spirit.
The bullet to the back of the head was the worst. I think getting old might give a person a tiny glimpse, of what it must be like to have who you are physically, ripped away in an instant. That and the slight lack of emotional control make it a difficult read, for me. Thankfully he has some good friends.

Very good piece on Augustus. Some guys get all the breaks and then there or heartbreaking stories like his.

I'm glad he is alive and can get around as well as laugh.

Mayweather or some boxing big wig should reach out and help Augustus in some way.

Fans could even start a Kickstarter for him to receive medical help and aid with his living expenses.

Recently something similar was done for former MMA Champion Mark Coleman and it has worked out for him.
