    Default Bruce Springsteen

    Hi guys,

Was just down at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry for one of the best gigs I have ever seen.

I already was in love with Springsteen, thanks to songs like Thunder Road, but seeing him and the E Street Band live was something else. Who changed your life with live performances

Never listened to him a lot, but he does a great job of blending folk styles with a lot more/more interesting syncopation than is the norm for rock and roll, was always my impression. Sure it was a great show!

Don't get a lot of great names often where I live but the best shows I've ever seen have probably been Herbie Hanock and his band, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and The Chieftains with Ry cooder. 2 of the 3 were when I was pretty young also, I should really get out more

Well I've seen Lynyrd Skynyrd & The Doobie Brothers...that was my first concert and it was pretty awesome. I was maybe 13, and when Skynyrd went into "That Smell" and that was the first time ever I smelled marijuana....really made an impact on me.

Jimmy Buffett playing at Carter Finley Stadium 4th of July in the pouring down rain for 3 hours AND shooting off fireworks at the end was epic as well.

Never seen the Boss live but my fav Springsteen song/ video is Im on fire.

Parliament had begun as the Funkadelics. Eventually. Funkadelic.
Saw them live when i was about 10.
They had a mammoth sized skull on stage. With red lights for eyes. ....and a 3 or 4 foot joint hanging out its mouth. A huge lighter. ...and when they lit the joint...the skull started.coughing. said oh this some good shit.
As the smoke from the joint flooded the stage, a guitar player came from inside his mouth while soloing.
Eddie Hazel turned me into a guitar lover instantly.
And like Kabong...i smelled something for the first time. Alot.

Springsteen is amazing. I have a tremendous respect for his back catalogue and there are just so many really great songs in there. His stamina seems quite remarkable and I hope he doesn't overdo it. I know he wants to give value for money, but people like him and McCartney were only doing short shows in their pomp and here they are beyond 3 hours sometimes. That's a lot of work and Springsteen really works hard with the guitar and vocals.
