PBC Tuesday night fights on FS1: Cherry vs Rhodes

Not a huge card but it's Tuesday night and I'm running with it. Man I miss those old USA cards . We seem to have crashed out for a while ? but up and running now. First up Alexei Collado 19-1 fighting undefeated Omar Douglas 16-0 and his massive bundle of dreads. Good opening round with Douglas stronger of the two.

Collado best weapon in 2nd was to tackle Douglas and both go tumbling. Collado getting through with sharp shots on stationary Douglas but being killed in the body as it goes.

Larry Holmes in the audience. I don't think that hair has changed in about 30 yrs . Good to see legends just shooting the bull and sipping a beverage at every day 'smaller' cards.

Douglas working hard but not so smart. Ahead through 4 though. Getting physical in 5th with both warned. Collado lands well but cannot lay in with him!

Best round so far for Douglas the 6th! Hurt Collado in the body twice who turned his back claiming low blow. Collado throws one low at rounds end and warned hard. He stays on those ribs he might close it out soon

Douglas with the KO in 8th. Drops Collado who goes down delayed reaction and a face full of grimace and stays on a knee for ten count. Body body body!

wondering if they screwed the rounds up Surely thought that was 7th

Evening sir(s) Looks like I didn't miss a classic by the finish of that one. Nice to see Cherry is still around, that guy was a gatekeeper when I started watching boxing! He's a solid pro, clean high output fighter, unless that's changed. Don't know his opponent but he's coming off a draw and hasn't fought anybody, pulling for the Cherry bomb.

Last saw Rhodes he looks a lesser version of a Hank Lundy type maybe. Skilled but more smoke than fire at times. Cherry did well to get back in title picture last time out and ran even!
