Default Is David Haye ranked in the Top 50 ATG HWs?

Would you rank guys like Pinklon Thomas, Oliver McCall, Ernie Shavers, Frank Bruno, ahead of Haye?

You know what, yes I might.

Haye is powerful and quite talented, but who is his biggest win? Valuev? Old Ruiz?

He has the tools to be great but has not dared to do so.

That said, I think he might eek into top 50. Old school small heavies would have a hell of a time beating him such as Dempsey, Johansen, Patterson, and Marciano.

I agree, he may be too damn fast for Marciano and Dempsey.... Patterson was fast.....Johansen was big...... Love to see Haye vs prime Mike Spinks. Who wins that one?

Agree with Hulk. Had all the tools but not the desire to prove himself - driven by pay days only.

No, not for me thanks, he had 5 fights at heavyweight before the farce with Chisora.

I don't think you can include De Mori or gjerjiorgjiegjeiroraj because they were not even fights

you can't be a top 50 ATG with 6 fights under your belt in that division

Great points. Look at Norton or Witherspoon or Shavers, how many fights they had.

How could Haye be placed in with them?

No. Haye just hasn't beaten anyone at HW. He has just carefully milked a very easy to manipulate British public with some smoke and mirrors. The Briggs fight is another case in point.

He got beaten easily by Wlad and refused to fight Fury, so I don't see any case for his HW career.

Nah, its eye opening when you acknowledge that every heavyweight he has beaten was arguably at the very end excluding Chisora and that only depends on how high you rank a Scott or Kevin Johnson . He rested on his arse like a reality television star instead of doing his job. It's amazing how he's managed to milk it really.

I don't know how my list would begin to look beyond 20 or so guys and anyones might start to look pretty wanting towards 50, but leaning towards no. He's not that durable, doesn't go 12 easily and in his one really big HW fight he showed a willingness to lose. Whose to know how he would have done against virtually anyone really good, by that measure? Plenty of good contenders, even fringe ones, who were tough as nails and could punch, and that might have always been big trouble for Haye as a HW.

It's not exactly hard to get in the top 50. I mean I reckon I must get in the top 200

Ali. Frazier.Norton. Dempsey. Tunney. Marciano. Liston. Holyfield. Bowe. Lewis. Holmes. Ezzard Charles. Paterson. Louis. Foreman. W.Klitschko. V.Klitschko. Jack Johnson. Tyson

These heavies are absolute musts. But that's still leaves 31 spaces ? So it's gonna be padded out with the likes of David Haye. You could throw Ingmar Johannsen and Max Schemiling, but even that leaves 28 to fill. So Haye easily get's in.
