Default So..... Brook-Khan will never happen then?

Boxing news: Kell Brook vs Amir Khan not happening, Twitter row ensues | Metro News

    Great.

Here are two perfectly able-bodied British fighters, with no love for each other, who the boxing world would love to see in the ring.... and yet they'd rather fight through Twitter. I guess it goes with the times, since that seems to be the preferred mode of doing business and/or trading insults nowadays. Maybe we boxing fans should just get on board. Let's see... who would I favor in a Twitter fight between Brook and Khan.... In that case, it's gotta be Khan. He's better known globally, I guess. Probably has the better Twitter following. Pretty good whiner, too. Remembering his epic crying over Floyd, trying every trick in the book to get Floyd to fight him. At least Khan's chin wouldn't be at risk here. I say Tweet on!! Trump himself would be proud.

Forget them both. Not too bothered if they fight one another or not. Just want them beaten whoever they fight next for some strange reason

The fight will happen eventually. Looks like Khan has a divorce coming up.

Saw the Khan interview on this morning. He says Brook has walked away from negotiations and doesn't want the fight. I don't believe that

If Brook did walk away from negotiations I can only imagine it being something to do with weight, maybe Khan is refusing to go up to fight and Brook can't get back down to 147.

Khan is a complete cunt! He's never wanted the fight and wanting a 70% cut is just a way of squirming out of it.
I couldn't give a flying fuck if it happens or not.

Who are you fellas talking about? One of the names seems familiar, think I heard of this Brooks chap giving 100 reasons he shouldn't have to fight Spence.

Didn't know Khan had demanded 70% - if true then yep , it's him that doesn't want it

has khan got a point though

yeah he sounds like a bellend saying he is the a side and all of that

but say they both faced opponents of the same standing in their next fights, what kind of money would they both generate?

I dunno, id have to see some figures for the fight and for other options to really decide if kell is getting a good deal or not

Khan generates money because of his weak chin - even in a fight on paper that looks one sided the other guy always has a chance

But his prime days are over

Kell has been stopped once whilst still on his feet with a fucked up eye.

Can't see how anyone can argue this shouldn't be 50-50

I don't disagree that if Brook fights at 147 he should have to fight Spence and that's it. My view was based on the thread and Khan wanting 70%.
Btw, surely you recognise this "Brooks chap" Ron? He's the one that beat America's new "Mini Mike Tyson" in his own back yard and destroyed that little myth. Admittedly that was a while ago, but that's because Garcia and Thurman have been lining up bums between them and avoiding coming here to fight him despite the fact that they would've been guaranteed more money.
I agree that this is getting out of hand and the best should fight the best, but what can you do when someone as influential as America's Golden Boy is allowed to let fights marinate and make fights at 6 ounces above or below a weight limit so as not to lose a title. Come to think of it, didn't Garcia do that as well? Fuck , it's a stateside epidemic!!!

So USA is to blame for what Mexicans and Puerto Ricans do? Love it!

Reminds me of how Ukrainians respond to Russians who blame Obama for every problem in Russia "yeah, it's Obama pissing in your halls" haha

147 seems to be the epicenter of the problem that permiates the whole of the sport. Everyone has a reason why they shouldn't fight another guy. Of course Thurman wanted Garcia, every top fighter at 147 wanted Garcia. Of course Kell wants Pacquiao or Khan, money money money money. I don't think Spence is some boogeyman, I don't believe in any of the guys that get that rep. Some are good, some are really good, some are over hyped. In the end it comes down to money. If it pays enough they get fights. But part is fighters need to get back to being fighters. It has been proposed for over a year now that Kell would give up his belt when it is time to fight Spence. There is no way Kell has not heard this. If he gives it up it is a bad bad look.

I don't give two shits about a Khan/Brook matchup. I want to see top guys determine who is best. Khan/Brook does nothing to determine this. Brook/Thurman/Spence all need to fight each other. Even if each finishes 1-1 the sport is better off.

It's funny how easy it is to become a legend in this sport and nobody seems to want to follow the simple path. The UK had that era at 168, all they had to do was fight each other and now we will remember them forever. Over here we had the 4 horsemen, all they did was fight each other. Imagine these guys now fight each other twice now, does anyone think they don't come out ahead for it? Go 1-3 and you will still be better for it. Makes the sport extremely frustrating. Because we will be lucky to see these guys fight once. (SMDH)

We'll gloss over the Mexican Puerto Rican thing otherwise we'll be here all night , but you're all happy to have the star spangled banner played when Oscar won Gold and call Swift an American champion.
As for the rest of your post, I 100% agree, couldn't put it better myself.
