Default Tommy Hearns vs Floyd Mayweather Jr

I just do not beleive he could compete, and would probably be decapitated by Hearns.

Floyd might be a better P4P fighter but at 147 I can't see how he'd win that fight, he'd have to be perfect, absolutely flawless to outbox Hearns

he would never get around Hearns' jab and his sense of keeping height and not jumping on Mayweather when he had him hurt would both Floyd.

Please don't forget the fact that Hearns was beating Leonard for 14 rounds...but it's his "GLASS JAW" that would do him in.....some say speed is power and we know how fast Mayweather is....Mayweather by KO in 4th Rd.

I thought Zab had that "GLASS JAW" too? And did Mayweather break it? He called him Super "Glass Jaw" Judah before the fight and it turned out to be a tough fight. Especially with his balls, heheh. jk. No, but about the Glass Jaw. Leonard had all the mustard in the world with the shot he hurt Hearns in.

True, Mayweather might not have given him the "mustard" but I still think that those that truely hit Hearns, and we know Mayweather is extreemly accurate, dropped Hearns....Remember the Hagler fight...by no means do I think PBF is in the same league as Hagler when it comes to power though... I also think PBF hurt his hand..we'll see if that might be the reason...

I'm weary of trusting Floyd right now. Because he was being dominated from the get go. Unless he came in with a hurt right hand? If Floyd hurt his hand in the fight, then it helped him. heheh

You know how awkward lefties can be...especially someone as talented as Judah.....but he was able to adapt and overcome...I truly belive that if they faught again Mayweather would win...only it would be by KO...the beatings would begin earlier in the fight and Floyd would have more time to acclimate himself to this new weight...only his 2nd at this weight and he beats Judah? that's pretty impressive...

I love Hearns, but, Floyd was more fleet-footed than SRL. He didn't have to use his feet against Zab. But, he would be all around Hearns, and Hearns would only win by KO. And that is a major possibility.

I'd say Floyd wins 6 of 10, but his losses would be probably be KOs.

Leonard, the genius he is, figured out how to get past that jab. I thought that jab was impossible to get past! Accurate and long. Leonard was on his toes, jumping back and forth showing awesome movement. And he was still getting jabbed by Hearns!

But I think it was Leonard, how ballsy he was... just went for a "Zinger!" and hit gold. It wasn't a straight shot either, it was a looping punch that was reaching for the rafters! I put that punch on slow-mo (vcr), and it's still fast! After that, Hearns had to retreat.

Well in order to beat Tommy Hearns PBF would have to be at the level of SRL and IMO he isnt.

Honestly seeing how it went the full 12 I'll go out on a limb and say Hearns, Duran, SRL, and JCC would give Floyd a hard run

AGREEDED! If Zab's quick jab bothered Mayweather early, imagine what Hearns cobra like jab would have done to Floyd, he would have had Floyd so fixed on stopping the jab, that would have set up Tommy's right, and that meant only one thing.....GOODNITE, plus Floyd does'nt have the punch or physical attributes to keep Hearns off of him.

I would to say that no way does Floyd beat Hearns, Hearns was lightning fast in his prime, one of the best boxers out their if not the best, he proved his boxing skills against Leonard when most thought he was just a puncher. He also outboxed a couple of slickest boxers out there in his day in Benitez and then later Hill. Those who say he had a glass jaw and would get ko'd by Mayweather, I don't think so, look at the fighters who did KO Hearns and you will say they were much bigger punchers then Mayweather, (Leonard, Hagler, Iran Barkley), all natually bigger the Mayweather. Hearns was a big big welter with a great jab, right hand, and could throw hard to the body, just to big, to fast, and hit to hard for Mayweather. Floyd started at Jr lightweight, he does not have the power at welter to beat someone as dominating as Hearns was. 6 time champion for a reason. just my opinion.

Hearns is the prototype for the kind of fighter that would beat PBF. He is a big rangy fighter with good power and good boxing skills. He could fight PBF inside and out and be effective. He has the energy to stay on PBF and keep constant pressure. I pick Hearns to win a UD 7 rounds to 5, by taking the last three rounds from a obviously busted up and fatigued PBF. If PBF is smart he wont fall victim to the pull to keep moving up in weight that Mosely and DLH did.
