    Default Deontay Wilder still fighting!

Deontay Wilder will continue to box although he is completely shot. He is looking for another big pay day, probably against AJ, and so has chosen a relative novice.

Wilder will return to the ring on June 27 to take on Tyrrell Herndon.

In December 2023, Wilder had a chance to get back into the title picture when he faced Joseph Parker. Wilder, who had never been a big volume puncher, only landed 39 punches over 12 rounds en route to a unanimous decision loss.

In his most recent fight, Wilder was again largely passive, never landing more than five punches per round against Zhilei Zhang en route to a fifth round TKO loss.

Herndon has lost five times in his career, four of those losses coming by knockout. His most recent loss came when he was knocked out by Richard Torrez Jr. in October 2023.

This is pretty bad. I have no doubt that if-when Wilder scores a KO that it will be shouted into "he still got it...well kinda" and he is ushered into another biggish match where he likely gets scrambled. It's just not there anymore and it's clear to any clear eye that he's rolling the dice of perma damage. The abrupt brutal flipside to being built up only on Tyson like power . Honestly hope he has someone in his ear that actually gives a damn about his welfare, and he opts out calls it a day. Go raise and enjoy your daughter dude and make new memories.

Yeah. He's made more than enough money from boxing and should call it a day. He could parlay whatever fame and recognition he's got into another career. Hell... if YouTuber Jake Paul can enhance his $$ worth through boxing... Wilder can surely go into another way to make a living and not risk permanent damage.

I’ve never been a fan of Wilder as everyone knows.but I’ll give him credit that he clearly has the desire to fight, because this is not for the money.
He was never a massive money earner, but He’ll earn a fraction of what he has in recent times.
And I quoted the above post because it mentioned Jake Paul, and that got me thinking.
I don’t believe Paul should be fighting any relevant pro HW. But Wilder isn’t really relevant in the top tier nowadays.
It would tick a box for Jake Paul (big name with a big KO reputation. More than enough to earn massive money) and it would tick boxes for Wilder (again good money for probably an easy nights work with a good possibility of a confidence boosting “old Wilder style” brutal KO and becoming the saviour of Boxing.)

    Hey! Not a bad idea.

Obviously, if it ever does happen... you should get all the credit.

Why not? Heaven knows there's been a lot of ridiculous circus matchmaking in boxing in recent years. A Jake Paul-Wilder clash makes all the sense in the world, for all the reasons you mentioned.

Of course, if Wilder lays Paul out with a KTFO, he'll become deluded enough to think he can still contend for a championship.

Wilder will be doing a service to boxing if he takes out a you tuber. He would be immediately inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame.
