    GREAT list!

I still, for the life of me, cannot figure out how Vito Antuofuermo became undisputed middleweight champion.

But wasn't Grim bounced off the deck like a beach ball as habit? From what I've read cause God knows I've not seen him he always got up with 1 or 2 exceptions. Maybe he had a bigger heart...or was just off his rocker

As Nat Fleischer would say of him, "Grim could neither box nor punch but he possessed an abundance of courage, in fact, too much for his own good. He was slow on his feet and even slower in his thought process. Though he had none of the assets that go to make a good fighter, for many years he was a great drawing card only because of his staying powers and his raw courage. His ability to absorb punishment was incomparable."

All due respect to Mr. Grim, how a man gets up from so much is something else, but Nat makes it sound as though he was the town idiot being brought in for pubic bludgeonings. I've read that his brain cells were tiny and nerves probally dulled? No idea. In the end he's probally a poster boy for brain damage in thanks to his toughness.

That's essentially it. He still had more chin then a Chinese phone book.
