I do about 6 different type of ab workouts for each part of my abs, i don't just do normal crunches. I do hanging leg raises, bicycle crunches, weight plate crunches, dumbbell side bends, ETC. And it all adds up to about 1000.
Oh ok. In that case I will let you off. Good man.
Can I call you Izzel Bizzle Cizzle?
When i was younger all i would do is just normal crunches, and i thought that would magically get me a sixpack. But i looked up on it and changed my routine all together, plus i added alot more cardio and i got there in the end and got a sixpack.

Im no master of the universe but it gave me alot more confidence, and its nice just to be in good shape it makes you feel better about yourself.
Absolutely. I couldn't agree more. The only difference between me and you is that I DO feel that I'm master of the universe. But thats just me. It's a rare breed. Miles and me mostly. But in all seriousness its good you work your abs in multiple ways. I still want to call you Izzel Bizzle Cizzle.

Mate I shit you not if you come to Darwin and enter the World drinking championships you will win it. You will get in the Guinness book of records.

Check it out. My mate won about 15 years ago drinking a Darwin stubby in just over a minute beating the German champion. You'd have that down in seconds (If you spun the liquid in the bottle that is ) Goes down without chugging then).

    Come on down ...Rhun
I was only second fastest in my rugby club, so I seriously doubt that I'd win any world records! It's the pressure from the funnel that makes it go down so quickly, so most people that don't choke or cough and can open the gullet can do it fairly fast. Not like a yard of ale, which is really difficult and takes forever.

Might fancy the challenge of the darwin stubby just over four pints i think, can you use a straw to help the flow, or is that against the rules?

I do a pint of beer in 2.8 seconds. It saves me from getting my bum/stomach slapped a lot.

    Have you met Steelie?

and I can't believe no one picked up on that..you're all far too busy having a homo-erotic flex off over each others abs. Nothing bent about that at all.

I think the majority of people will have been bummed more than they can do sit ups. Personally, both of mine are even, at 0 each.

Master has probably been bummed more

This is a good idea - we should commission this game

Commission a game where you bum Mark TKO in every hole in his body.

I'm gonna call out youngblood... As far as I know his Amature career eclipses mine... which would make trumping him in that category all the more sweeter...

Fasted KO in a competitive bout, 9 seconds/one punch (I've factored the punches in too... simply to try and beat you in either less time or less punches thrown! Doubling my chances! :P)

There isn't any harder ones i can do, i do the most effective ones. Unless your on about ridiculous ones like hanging upside down on a bar. 1000 isn't that many most professional boxers do 1000+ crunches RJJ used to do 2000.

I'd also wager that if I worked out like Roy Jones used to, I still wouldn't achieve physical ability similar or anywhere near his.

There are literally 100s of exercises harder than any variation of crunch that you can name that you could be doing which would be providing you with way better results than doing 1000, 2000 or 3000 crunches will.

The body responds to overload and if you can do that many reps, either at once or in a single workout than you're not going to achieve anything near the highest possible stimulus for notable adaptation in neurological or muscular strength or power.

What are the objectives of your core workout and how will doing such a high amount of reps achieve it?

You're already doing better exercises like hanging leg raises... which tells me that you're more than ready to ditch the high rep (i.e. 'long road to no where') crunches and start doing more intense movements... replace the bicycle crunches with Olympic bar corner rotations and the crunches with exercise like deep ab roll outs, weighted jack knives, ball plank tuck ins and gymnastic movements like skinning the cat.

I'll be honest, I've never really dedicated an entire session or even a sizable part of one to core training. The body works all or nothing and if you're doing heavier bodyweight moves (especially pull ups, but also dips and the more challenging types of push up) and heavy lifts... squats, deads, presses and cleans then core work should really just be done to supplement the already considerable amount of activation that you've already achieved.

There's a time and a place for isolation and endurance work, just as long as it's not the focus of your workout.

doing 1000s of crunches is going to leave you with tight hip flexors, a neglected posterior chain and a misaligned pelvis as a result. it'll catch up with you in later life and probably give you tonnes of lower back pain.

I don't just do crunches Adam, i do weighted side bends, weight plate crunches, ab roll, ETC. It's worked for me i've seen good results, maybe i should of worded it better. But what i mean is that all adds up to near enough 1000. I didn't mean i just do 1000 crunches.

And i do alot of body weight exercises like dips, chin ups, push ups, ETC. Thanks for the advice Adam but honestly mate i never get any back pain, and i always make sure i keep good form.
