frankly im having a bit o boxing problems at the moment mate.
im lacking the motivation to go the the gym, and on some random vibe iv been doing alot of weights over the winter, and not watching my diet properly, and have ballooned in weight. im not fat, but im like 7 kg heavier than i was, and the fact i cant be assed to get in the gym to lose it isnt helping me

its all gone pete with my career aswell. since eubanks gone bust, i dont have a promotor. he was gonna manage, and pay the £10,000 initial fees for me, and get me fights. havent seen him in a good month at least, and hes told me he wont be able to manage me.
iv fought some good lads in my amatuer career, always people who have had the same amount as me, if not more, but i dont think iv fought enough of the top notch guys.
i dont know many promotors who are looking to take on a 17 year old kid with no major fame to his name, no olympic medal or even entry and coming with a huge price tag and transport problems... im not really an early xmas present am i?

so at the moment its the marine commandos for me. im off to plymouth for my intial "tests" to see if i have what it takes with 30 other lads september the 9th.
i see this as a way of retaining/improving on my fitness/toughness, and working up enough money to get me a pro card and whatnot. even if i did the standard 6 years service id still only be 23 when i got out, i dont think id be past my prime

Is ti possible you could fight amateurs for 2 more years(till you're 19) and then try to get on the 2008 Olympic team. And don't become disheartened because of the things happening. Just become dismotivated. Remember I told you you're still a fighter and still a person ok. Good luck Alex.

Once you've became a private they'll let you box in the army Alex, theres some quiet good competition, especially in the Marines. Like you say you'd be no older than 23 when you left and staying amatuer for a few years isn't really gonna hurt you that much. Especially as you'll be fully physically mature when you get out. Atleast in terms of fitness you'll probably be nearing your peak.
