It won't be a worthy opponent. I reckon he will try and get Urango to pick up another belt.
All I can say is lets hope not.

Cant see it being Urango to be honest, going back to beat Urango for a belt he had previously won from Tszyu makes no sense at all. What I want to happen (what I really want to happen is for Hatton to stay at 147) is for Cotto to vacate the WBO and move on to a weltereight fight which he is reported to be doing and for Hatton and Castillo to fight for the vacant belt.

Cotto is scheduled to fight on Dec 2nd with no opponent named yet

Witter and Corley are fighting for the WBC belt in Sept.

Which leaves Urango for the IBF strap or TBA (Castillo) for the WBA

I would prefer Castillo but maybe Rick could fight Cotto on the 2nd ?

Urango would obviously be the easiest fight of the three and you could argue that Rick deserves an "easy" fight but i dont think HBO or the fans will favour missing out on Castillo or Cotto.

Hattons still the champ @ Jr.W. if he fought Castillo it would be a defense of his title.

All he did was not make weight... sure it was dissapointing not to get the third fight, but it was Corrales who chose not to fight.

Well this is the letter he sent to the IBF :-

Dear Marian Muhammad & The IBF Team,

It is with the greatest regret that I must surrender my IBF Light Welterweight Title. Winning the IBF Championship was without doubt the greatest night of my life and to have to give it up outside of the ring is truly a painful experience. Much worse than the punches I had to take to wrestle the title from Kostya!

It has NEVER been my or my team's intention not to defend my title against the IBF's appointed challenger but sadly due to outside influences, legal problems and problems meeting TV schedules, it seems that this is the situation I find myself in.

I have worn my championship with pride and I hope that in winning the unification bout with Carlos Maussa, I have also made the IBF proud of their champion.

I hope that in the near future I will get the opportunity to become an IBF World Champion again and that I will have the chance to defend my title. Like all fighters, we take great risks in the pursuit of our dreams of becoming World Champions and I hope that in the future I will only win and lose titles in the ring.

Once again I would like to thank you all for the time I spent as your champion and look forward to becoming one again soon, although in my heart I will remain your champion!

I feel sorry for a lot of you guys who care what certain bodies say. Hatton won his championship from Tszyu, & hasn't lost it yet. Sure he moved up to welter but still has his Jr. welter title. He has not given his championship up.

    The WBA championship is vacant!!

I can see what you mean.

In your and my eyes Hatton is still the WBA Light welterweight champ but the record books will say otherwise.

And therefore no one would enter the ring as "Champion" and no one would enter the ring as "Challenger"
