so you think RJJ and Hopkins didn't have the balls to leave the States?
Why should they have to leave lol? Any fighter who's got half a brain knows all the money and exposure is in the US, and they're already here. Doesn't make sense, especially for Roy after that whole mess in the olympics.
yeah but to be a true world champion u should fight guys away from your home imo,
yeah u can stay in the States/Britian and beat everyone that comes and make your money
but real champions look 4 a bigger challenge and beat guys in there home towns around the world.
thats why RJJ/Hopkins/JC ect will never get the worldwide fame they deserve,
look at Ali he's the best known boxer around the world, why? because he fought around
the world! just a shame alot of todays boxers won't
One problem, all those fighters you just mentioned IMO are better than Ali so what you're throwing at me is that he's more famous cause he fought here and there, which the fame is hard to argue. But more famous because he fought all around the world, or because the mulsim religion was a perfect gimic for him

Not saying he was a complete fraud or anything like that, but still he didn't want to fight in the war, religion was a good way to get out of that and at the same time make him beloved by everyone. Great fighter, but people need to get off his dick

Unfortunately in the present time, Smashup is right

Wish Bhop would of had some gonads and fought Calzaghe

getting soo tired of these remarks,

FOr the millionth time, calzaghe was set to fight hopkins in the usa untill hopkins pulled out after doubling his demands that he would never get...

btw calaghe has fought in oou of wales in his pro career, has RJJ or hopkins?

RJJ and Hopkins never needed to, America is a giant compared to all other countries when it comes to the sport of boxing

and if Calzaghe was from here, he wouldn't of had to leave either (especially with that style, he'd of been a rich mother fucker)

Calzaghe (if they fought) would Ahhnialate him with ease.
I've never seen Calzaghe ahnnilate any world class guy with ease. He just don't hit that hard. And Jones woulda slaughtered any of "your boys" back in the day. Eubanks, Benn, Collins, give me a break. James Toney was a better fighter than any of them and Roy won every single round against him. Now, a Calzaghe fight could be competitive and very exciting. I think Roy can still win it, though I would like to see him have another tune up fight first. And I know I didn't hear your dumb asses sayin Bernard Hopkins was scared of Joe fukin Calzaghe!
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

I like roy J, I like Bhop and I like Calzaghe. They are all great fighters and even though some are past their primes still better than 99% of the rest. I think roy jones could win a calzaghe fight. Not saying he would blow him out or anything. Just saying I think there is enough in the tank to pull it out.

But lets talk reality here. I doubt it happens. Jones wants johnson.
Calzaghe wants someone that he thinks has flaws, Allan Green.
My money on Green that he destroys Calzaghe. I called Green to beat Jaidon when everyone was saying Jaidon would kill Allan. At the time I said Allan could be lacy or Calzaghe. Everyone on the forum thought I was an idiot. The speed, the power the pure athleticism will weigh in too much even for the masterful use of the ring and great experience that Joe has. Allan has knock out power in both hands, the likes the division hasn't seen in many years. You all can say whatever you want but if the Joe C and Green fight does materialize I want my day in the sun to say I told you so when he beats JC

Look at it like this...Calzaghe & Jones are speedsters...maybe I'd give an edge to Joe now...but not in the past.

Thing is...both men looked like greased lightening against their last opponents.

    FACT.

Also...back in the day...Jones woulda beaten Benn, Eubank, Calzaghe, & whoever else got tossed his way...& not just Brits either.

Jones was a marvel...but currently, he's just a shell of his former self IWO.

I'd have to give the edge to Joe on this time frame.

Im gonna take Jones on this one, Common sense would have me pick Calzaghe but i just have a feeling we can see one more flash of the Old Roy Jones before he retires.
