At some point, you almost have to feel bad for the HBO bigwigs - they try so hard to build a fighter, but it never seems to work out.
His legs were more shaky on the first two knockdowns...I thought he was there and coherant. I like that ref cam that's a cool addition.
Bayliss did him a massive favour stopping it when he did, plus all the long counts. Khan could have been badly sparked had he been allowed to continue. And now he can claim he was stopped too soon and deserves a rematch down the line/next time out I'll be better, won't make mistakes etc. instead of leaving the ring on a stretcher. There's just possibly a way back for Khan after this fight, it would have been a lot harder had he been seriously sparked instead of being stopped on his feet.
Yeah, still a bit of an idiot, but less of one after his son gave him some redemption, the father should be grateful to his son for that, imagine what an ass dad would have looked like if Danny had lost.
I agree, great fight, BTW, lots of Khan haters on the forum ain't there.![]()
Yup, Garcia smelled blood ,wasn't going to let Khan off the hook and would have just kept pummeling him, eventually knocking him unconscious.
You've got to wonder after this if mentally and physically, Khan will ever be able compete again at the championship level.
Missy, your "bambi on ice" description of Khan cracked me up.![]()
I remember Khan being touted as the next big thing in boxing, then came the Prescott fight. I don't believe he ever mentally recovered from that fight, because all it takes is one big shot, and he's back on queer street again. The chin just isn't there, and he writes checks with his mouth that his ass can't cover.
I never liked hearing him talk and always thought he was overrated, tonight once again proved that.
