That's what I'm thinking...50 and Oscar going at it on Twitter doesn't bode well considering GBP were Floyd's promoters as and when he fought. We don't need more beefs getting in the way of fights.

Anything can happen but I don't see these guys cutting their own throats, egos have a way of disappearing when money is involved. A big plus might be seeing fighters paydays increase if things do turn ugly! Come join us and you get a bigger cut or stay with us and get a bigger cut! How about this one-- These guys are recruiting me in a big way but I want to stay with you, can we take another look at our contract? I don't know if I'd try that one with Don King, he's a funny guy when it comes to contracts!

All I care about is... how is any of this going to translate into big boxing matches for us fans?
Is this going to make the big fights easier to make? Harder to make?
Once a big name fighter goes into promoting, which is all the rage nowadays, I lose interest... other than to know what's in it for me, the boxing fan.

Same reason I stay away from threads about how much "X" or "Y" boxer makes per fight.
I'd rather read up on advanced knitting techniques than read about boxers' economics.

My gut feeling is this (TMT) is an ill-fated adventure into something these guys know nothing about.
Thing is, it cant get any worse. I mean had we been in the mid eighties that fantasy fight that everyone still seems to drool for would have happened twice already. Both Oscar and Floyd kicked
Arum to the curb and the bad blood seems to be eternal. Arum has become the King of double-dipping and playing dice with legacies. He sits on fighters also like they are some kind of RRSP, Lets not forget HBO who is really the de facto promoter deciding who fights who when and where.

If anything TMT puts pressure on the good ole boys club. I remember Oscar saying he was going to clean up boxing and get the best fighting the best. My gut feeling is that HBO will lock onto this upstart
and maybe even a network like ABC. Oh how I have missed Wide World of Sports. Even if we get 5 or 10 meaningful more fights a year I will be happy. I don't expect to many drastic changes to the overall landscape with all these freakin belts floating around

Amen to that, bro. On Oscar, though, I'm still waiting for him to "clean up boxing." I know it takes more than just him... and maybe you're right about TMT pressuring the big boys. Hell, whatever works. I'm just past the point of caring about who starts up a new promotion company, because so far we've seen nothing... as evidenced by boxing's failure to get us Floyd-Pac when it meant something. But I'd be ecstatic about 10 or so meaningful fights a year too. Unfortunately, it seems we're headed in the opposite direction.

I hear ya bud. Its really hard not to be cynical. 50 million a piece and they could not get it done. I'm not to sure those two clowns have a clue of what damage they have done to the sport. Leonard and Duran fought twice in about six months. Legacy has been chucked out.

Boxing has to find a way out of all these $%^&*ing belts. Boxing imo was watered down enough when they went to 17 divisions. Then the Wba and Wbc split from one body. Then the Ibf came on line with the Wbo triple parking. Present day includes an interim champ, a regular champ, an emeritus champ and a continental drift of other champs. There is like 10 guys claiming to be champ of every weight class besides heavy.

Leonard demanded fighting Benitez, Hearns, Duran and Hagler.

The real money men are HBO and Showtime, these promoters cream off the money from that. So whoever are the CEO of those organisations are the masters of boxing.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
