You just want to see Carl knocked out
i think every1 does, joe would make an easier night out of it than he did with lacy. in an ideal world id like to see lacy/froch. 2 punchers what a fight. lacy would win though as the cobra has no defence
i could never ever see this fight happening tbh. i cant see lacy going all the way to england again and i know that carl wouldnt travel on his back door cos its to much of a risk for him. so i think this fight is surely out of the question. it would be a nice 1 imo. and as for joe KOing froch i really dont know if that would happen cos froch has talked about fighting joe all his boxing life and you know that he would be putting in 150% to fight him.i could see it being a 1 sided UD for joe

I'm just wondering if you understand negotiating or boxing period.

If you are a champion & you want to unify & someone offers you more money than you have made on any one fight...WTF would you do?

If you were a champion...you'd take the money & fight for you chance to get the belts that Calzaghe holds...as for actual sources...they say that the internet controls all & print is dead...so here's a few links for you, dumdane.

Sauerland admitted that he had made contact with Calzaghe's promoter, Frank Warren, and he is hopeful of coming to a deal.

"We are very interested in this fight and are happy that England is interested as well," Sauerland said.

"Their current offer is not acceptable as it is not good enough financially and the date coincides with the football World Cup but we are in talks and would love to stage this attractive bout in either September or October."

    JOE FOE IS FIGHT SHY
    By Lee Reynolds
JOE CALZAGHE'S hopes of winning a third world super-middleweight title were dashed yesterday when Markus Beyer, Germany's W B C champion, priced himself out of the fight.

Promoter Frank Warren had made Beyer an offer to fight WBO and IBF king Calzaghe at Cardiff's Millenium Stadium on Saturday, July 8.

But he revealed: "They wanted two million dollars (£1,150,000) plus the German TV rights and that's totally unrealistic.

"It's as good as saying that Beyer doesn't want to fight Joe - so why don't they just admit it?"

Mikkel Kessler, Denmark's unbeaten WBA champion, also appears to be fighting shy of Calzaghe after watching the Welshman's crushing points defeat of America's Jeff Lacy in Manchester 11 days a go.

These reports were before Markus's wittle cuts. Hope that helps.

FFS this is an article from back in march?

Beyer was refering to recent negotiations, not something that happened 6 months ago. Everything had been agreed on EXCEPT the date. But now it seems the timeframe Beyer was able to work with would/should have suited Calzaghe just fine. Yet for some reason he chose to cut off negotiations with Beyer.

And as for the links you offer - well it's all nice and dandy that Joe C comes out and tells us that Beyer outpriced himself. Maybe 2 mill is too much, maybe it isn't (i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be enough for Calzaghe himself). What it doesn't say is how much Calzaghe was prepared to offer - usually it would be next to nothing.

In any case it's irrelevant since in the latest negotiations they HAD agreed on money. Time was the only problem - which it now appears wouldn't have been a problem anyway.

Dude...Sauerland, his F****** own promoter said that the money was not satisfactory & that says that the money was not what they wanted...can you not read?

Again...I ask you...if you are a champion trying to unify (as Beyer is) & the prospect is there to beat Calzaghe...you'd do it.

Again...your'e arguing a moot point. The money wasn't good then, it's good now, it's this, it's that...you should just be thrilled that Beyer is facing Mr. Danish Mikkel Kessler?

So are you saying that there hasn't been negotiations between Beyer and Calzaghe this summer? or whats your point? If so you are saying that Beyer is downright lying. Other than that i don't know what you're getting at appart from some namecalling. Beyer's team was quite direct in saying that everything had been agreed on to fight Calzaghe in the UK - except for the date. You may choose not to believe Beyer. But i have no reason to have more faith in Warren.

Dude...Sauerland, his F****** own promoter said that the money was not satisfactory & that says that the money was not what they wanted...can you not read?
Yes i believe i can read. But when they signed the Kessler-fight Beyer's ppl said theyd really rather have faced Calzaghe as it would have paid more, but again - Calzaghe only wanted the september date.

Again...I ask you...if you are a champion trying to unify (as Beyer is) & the prospect is there to beat Calzaghe...you'd do it.
Beyer at this stage of his career is taking the fight that pays the most. His chances of winning against either Calzaghe or Kessler are slim. Figting Calzaghe should - win or loose - be the most rewarding both in terms of money and recognition. But as the date couldn't be agreed on he had to go with Kessler.

But i am thrilled that Beyer is fighting Kessler. Kessler would really have been sidelined if Beyer-Calzaghe had been made.
But i still have very little respect for Calzaghe's/Warren's ability to make worthwhile fights happen.

I would LOVE to see how Calzaghe does against a defensive genius like Bernard, would be a stormer. I give Joe the edge however.
