I'm the real pretty boy
I think if you have done a bit of boxing you can have a better idea on how styles blend togeather.
All along I picked Hatton to beat KT and Calzaghe to beat Lacy, but the amount of bullshit that was flying about on here by people who knew Fuck all really pissed me off.

Watching a ring walk some times puts butterflys in my stomach... it's like watching your self, you know what they are going through but when you're doing the same thing you don't think of it like that.

Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
I've boxed in the backyard with uncles and friends. I have learned from people who have been in and around the ring. I have too many anxiety issues to actually particpate in the sport. Also, I knew I would never be good enough to make a go of it and I don't like getting punched in the face for nothing.
When I was in high school I was organizing boxing matches. I got brave once and had two guys who hated each other boxing in the football field during school hours. I denied everything but since it was my 4 gloves they were using I went down.
Even if someone hasn't boxed, they know what it means to be threatened by a bully, or be in a fight.
Boxing is kinda like public speaking with punchs....
I did Taekwondo, Thai Boxing and then Boxing..boxing being my favourite one.
I never compete in the prorank, only in the amateur rank...trained and sparred with guys that were good pro. I think I was quite good on the physical side, but mentally not always at the best (doubting, frustration with weight, ...). but hey I was only an amateur.
I trained over a period of 15 years including 8 in pure boxing.
But if I have a better knowledge about boxing than those who never put the gloves for real ? I don't know...if Britkid never boxed, then I would be amazed, but yeah it's possible. Wacko knows about what he's talking, and he's not and never was a boxer.....so yeah I guess everything is possible.
What annoys me are comments like he's scared, he has no chin for some fighters who took incredible punishments, or people having no respect when a fighter is hurt. WHat people often don't understand is that sometimes you want a victory, you're ready to pay whatever the price is for that...
I mean, in these occasions, yes I think : hell they never put the gloves and tehy probably never have the courage to fight on a ring.
and yes, you can learn a lot by watching, I mean my american family explain me the football rules like they were Jhon madden Consultants teams...eventhough they never practiced it :-)
i have been in and out of the boxing gym since 2002. I have fallen in love with it. but i never had a proper trainer. Now im 16 and have a proper trainer. They say everything happens for a good reason, and im happy that i didnt box when i was 13 cos i have a better understanding of it now.
im also a huge fan of the support!!!
i got my first fight (unlicensed show) on saturday, cant wait.
im also gonna box amatuer this season, if god wills.

Me.
I have never boxed, never been in a fight, never even been close to being in a fight come to think of it.
But........................................
I love boxing I love the tactical side, I am impressed with the fitness and bravery, and of course the gambling opportunity.
I would definately not claim to be an expert, but as far as I know I haven't stepped too far out of bounds.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
I had 23 fights with a record of 21-2 (17). But got hurt in my last fight in 72 a blood clot & never stepped back in the ring again.
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
were you pro or amatuer galaxy?
Both bro but only had a handful of amatuer fights about 16 I think. But my brother was the man. Possibly the greatest lightweight NZ ever produced!!!Originally Posted by ELBI16
