    actually,
i'd like to talk about the topic.

if tyson fights in pride, he definately has a good chance of making a name for himself.
he just needs to learn to keep his head up for any kicks and he's DEFINATELY gotta learn to defend against takedowns.

I really don't think we'll ever see Tyson fight again. I've heard this crap before. But if he does then he should fight one fight and get out: Bob Sapp. Neither have any ground game, and both have lost recently. I say Mike would KO him pretty bad myself. But it'd be a HUGE event.

Good! Keep your hairy toes in the Shire , punk! When you get some Ent drink and pass the 3 foot mark MAYBE thell let you into the Prancing Pony. They always show MMA fights and sometimes the X-games. I doubt your simple 'leaf dead' brain could handle the level of these great athletes , but theres always hope!
Heres a to help you on your 'quest' for understanding.
Thanks buddy but I'm old and done with questing. I don't live in the Shire any more I moved over the sea with Frodo.

But trust me even if I rented a room upstairs of the 'Prancing Pony' I wouldn't bother to come down to watch crap like MMA.

Now if the quest was to take the UFC Ring to Mount Doom and throw it into the fires and destroy it forever I would probably consider taking the journey!

Actually I'm too old, 128 now, but Frodo's a good lad and he hates UFC too, he'd be up for going to Mordor again if it meant the end of it all for good :P
Well screw you and Frodo! Sucking d*** down by the mushroom farm just to get a hit of the ring. Makes me sick! Last I heard Sam was still up for a good adventure. Hes not crying over a lost finger or any baby shat like that. So I guess me and my home boy Balin are going to hit him up and see if he is down for some seriuos fake sport destruction. Sorry you and your suppossed "nephew" (come on Bilbo, we all know thats some bulls***) cant step up. Have fun over there across the sea( is that France).

Well good luck getting Sam to join your mad adventure, since he married Rosie and got saddled with kids he ain't allowed to leave Bag End let alone travel off to Mordor.

And Balin doesn't get out as much as he used to, what with being dead and all :P

Yes I will do that as soon as I've finished studying the true fighting arts as mastered by Kimbo Slice

Bilbo as much as I respect your opinions on things, you are so far off on the skill set of a Mixed Martial Artist...Grappling is a whole art in itself...Believe me take it from someone who does it, it aint as easy as it looks and is a lot of time and hard work invested just as much if not more than learning to Box .
Don't misunderstand me jtrock I do agree that their is trememdous skill in all martial arts, but the UFC is a bastardisation of all of them. It was clearly invented by a group of young producers and media moguls who wanted to make some quick and easy money cashing on the craze for WWF Wrestling in the US.

It's not a proper sport I don't care what anyone says.

Now proper martial arts on the other hand I agree is very skilful.

Now please excuse my ignorance of MMA versus UFC etc as I really don't know the difference.

All I am talking about is whatever sport it is that has Chuck Lidell as world champ and Tank Abbot as a big star. That is what I am talking about.

If there is a MMA sport seperate from this then I am not passing judgement as I just don't know enough about it but Chuck Lidell is not a professional sportsman.
Bilbs I agree about the UFC, Frankly I dont like it..To me pride fighting is the best brand of MMA cause its alot more cultural to me its like the UFC is like the Minor leagues and the Pro's fight in pride....

Yea, your right. It was so damn dark in that cave and I was screaming for that punk to get his fat ass out of bed, turned on the lights and there he was, dead as road kill. Thankfully Gimli is still ready to go. Turns out Sam left Rosie. You know, she was doing Merry and Pippen(and please dont bring up Bill the donkey from the show at the Prancing Pony, Im trying to forget that mess). So were off to battle those UCF guys to honor the MMAs dominance in the world of pro fighting.

you know bilbo I can respect people who just don't like MMA, but when ignorant chumps like yourself come on a forum and run your mouth its just absurd. MMA fighters are world class athelets. They range from world class wrestlers, judokans, kickboxers, sambo and jiujistu practitioners. Matt Hughes, Kevin Randleman, Mark Coleman are former NCAA all americans in wrestling. Karo Pareysian is one of the worlds best judo practioners. Mirko Filipovic and Mark Hunt are world reknown kickboxers. BJ Penn was the first American to win his weight class in Brazils BJJ championships. Andrei Arlovski and Fedor Emelianko were both world champions in Sambo. Jeff Monson is a Abu Dhabi champ. Randy Couture was an olympic greco roman wrestler. I think that list alone completely blows away any premise that MMA fighters are not world class atheletes. I would never argue that a MMA fighter would be successful in a boxing ring b/c of the science of boxing, but on the other hand boxing is a one dimensional combat sport. MMA fighters are versed in everything from takedowns/takedown defense, submissions, muay thai, boxing and kickboxing. Even a great striker like Chuck would never attempt to box a pro fighter even against a slug like Tyson. Tyson would stand nothing more than a punchers chance in the cage with any top MMA fighter to include Chuck. You assessment of MMA based soley on UFC is also indicative of your ignorance. UFC is a good REGIONAL org. It has many of the best American and Canadian fighters, but Pride is a sampling of the worlds best. Not to mention orginizations like Strikeforce, WFA and IFL. If you don't like the SPORT then don't watch but dont go spewing misinformation about a sport you know next to nothing about.

Well I did say I was only talking about UFC, I'm not knocking martial arts at all I said in a post above that there is great skill in martials arts. I am purely talking about UFC nothing else buddy.

I know nothing about the other organisations you mention neither did I claim to.

As regards me spewing misinformation I doubt that many people on here are going to take my sarcastic jokey comments and use them as the basis for their own beliefs and attitudes towards MMA, if only I were that influential.

But let me end by saying that this is a BOXING forum and you are in the BOXING TALK section. If you want to talk MMA and UFC with a bunch of like minded folk fuck off over to one of thier forums and chat away to your hearts content.

I personally find your description of Mike Tyson as being a 'slug' to be just as idiotic and biased as anything I have said the only difference being I didn't come over to your UFC Clowns.R.Us website forum and post it.

If you by your own admission know nothing about MMA and UFC and as you pointed out are a steady contributor to a BOXING forum then why even post on a thread that is obviously about Pride, a world wide mma org then childishly act like a hard ass to someone who does know something of the MMA world. Does this strike you as mildly ironic? I tell you what Ill keep my comments on MMA to the MMA forum if you stop bad mouthing a legit sport and top notch org like UFC that you know nothing about.

The post is about Tyson entering Pride.

I said UFC sucks balls and you called Tyson a slug.

So we both hate one side of the equation each.

Difference being I don't cry over it.

I'm sure there are some great athletes in MMA I'm just stating that in my lowly opinion UFC is crap.

You think Tyson is a slug, thats cool with me, we can agree to disagree.

Yeah! Fu** Bilbo! I thought he was ok until I found out he is an "ignorant chump" and that Mike Tyson is a "slug". You know Bilbo you need to learn abit about judokan, sambo and jiujistu practitioners before you start slamming these fine arts! F*** man! Are you deaf
Matt Hughes, Kevin Randleman, Mark Coleman Karo Pareysian Mirko Filipovic Mark Hunt BJ Benn Jeff Monson Randy Couture and most of all Chuck!!! These guys are household names for christs sake! Sometimes I find it hard to change the channel from MMA to watch my favorite sport, nascar. You make me sick Bilbo!!!

o wait! This is BOXING TALK...my bad!
